I was talking with a member of OotN tonight after the OP battle craze and we both agree, it's time for some OP battle breaks.

We're all tired of having to stay home from work (hello, money?), we're all tired of having our much needed weekend rest taken from us, we're all just tired. You know it, I know it.

We all need to master some crafts, master some levels, all that nice stuff. Can we all try to play nice for a few weeks (2 or 3) and not declare on any outposts? This will give thresholds time to get low on both sides, making for easier battles when we all go back and attack like crazy again, right? Yrkanis battles are more fun anyway.

So, can we all try to stop declaring like made for a little bit?

And if someone were to declare, 'ya know what, dont support it. Relax. Make friends on all sides of the fence. I have, lately, I've done more talking with the evil matis karavan alliance than I have leveling. (Of course, most of us crazy OoC members like to stand around and chat).

But, Take a Break!

I hardly even visit the Ryzom Forums, because of all the Crap talk here, but this I had to see for my self...

TAKE A BREAK???

you got to be joking!!! caus you win a few battles and are tired or your fellow Kami's are tired. If you can't handle the pressure that comes with owning an OP... then that your problem deal with it and take a break on your own time.

Take a Break you got to be joking!!! Argggg

See you at 1 of the next OP Battles!

For the record, I'd like to point out that this request for a break is all the more ironic considering:

- Nexus launched almost daily attacks over the Christmas holidays
- Nexus initiated the latest wave of Kami attacks with their successful conquest of Whirling.

We Karavan are merely reacting to unprovoked aggression.

Also, while I admit the Karavan are prone to schedule defense rounds during weekend evenings, forcing the mostly-European Kami to stay up late, at least they have that option. The Kami are the ones that schedule attacks during US work hours during the week, when many Karavan do not have the ability to attend. There is growing debate within the Karavan community about stooping to the Kami level and starting to schedule attacks during the work week. Hopefully it won't come to that.

I think Keiko isn't aiming specially at the Kara force here, just to all of us. Kara, Kami or neutral.

Ignorance, thy name is OP-PvP.

Allright, have fun flaming over harmless questions.

Keiko, blame Nexus - they're the ones who keep declaring at times you should be at work :)

Besides, we'll understand it you can't make it ;)

Well, my irony (I like to not think at it as sarcasm, didn't intend that) was half irony.

If the kara side wants to have a break then why not start by calling back the war they declared themselves.

Imagine the following situation, we duel each other, I have my knife close to your neck, then say: oh, I'm tired, give me a break and stay in same position till i sharpen this balde a bit better.

Correction to Graymage:
Nexus lost their Op, Whirlwing, to GoJ attack after for months we had to wake up at 03-05 in the morning to defend what the KA was attacking., I can recall at least 2 wars when it was sunday to monday 03 am, not saturday to sunday.

The december raids of Nexus have some roots in these hours. For months and months kamis have attacked at 7-9 pm to make it possible to all attend and have fun. With this startegy we lost quite a lot of OPs. Nexus was dispossesed of their OP after GoJ - first on Atys to do that - camped Whirlwing OP 5(five) hours in advance the war. First attack at an unusual hour was upon AP OP in FF last spring.

All these are in the past for now. Everyone puts their hours as they want and if we can we come. I see no reason to put it at 19 gmt if I know in advance defence will be 03 am. Want to attack during the week work? *shrug* About same number of karavaneers have liberal proffessions as kamis, won't change anything.

All respect for Reapers from this point of view. But we weren't attacking Reapers so didn't expect same treatment in defensive time.
Can we make a charta of guilds kara and kami to fight only in a certain interval? I doubt, but I would agree.

Goj did not camp Whirling for 5hrs , some Karavan were there 3hrs before and had to remove a couple of Kami players. More came in at around the 2hr pre battle mark, a tactic the Kami use all the time :)

As for taking a break i think taking a break from all the stuipid times for battles is needed. Each side will just get worse imo and it will become imossible to have a good battle.

Win - Lose - Draw i dont care as long as the battle is a good clean fun one.

He started it!
Boo hoo, it was a suggestion and one which has clearly been turned down, personally im all for more wars but its understandable players who cant spend alot of time playing are getting annoyed with doing nothing but fighting OP wars.
Yes kami have used dirty tactics and so have karavan (lets not go into who started what), even if the kami have yet to use such tactics to good effect, well done OOTN you managed to not only help AA retain their outpost but get past the first round against MoM, not alot can be said about it, im not happy but there is nothing anyone can do, not a tactic i expected of you but at least you used it to good effect.
That said, let the wars begin.

Well said.

PS, Acridiel no offence intended but you dont know the current situation on our server so no need for your remarks :o

LOL... There have been Kara attacks in the past late night on weekdays(for me and im U.S. :P )

And now both sides are stooping to multi attacks in order to try and win an OP because one was lost durring the attack round... This is sad that either side would do this IMO, So there is no "stooping" to be done, We're all already at the bottom.

GoJ's attack on Nexus was Saturday 02/Dec/2006 at 00:00 (Sunday 00:00 - 02:00) GMT

I know of only one such rash attack when DT declared on Nexus. What was the other?
arfindel wrote:The december raids of Nexus have some roots in these hours. For months and months kamis have attacked at 7-9 pm to make it possible to all attend and have fun. With this startegy we lost quite a lot of OPs.
Counting todays declarations, since May 1st, 2006 (when I started counting), there have been 59 Kamist(+Nexus) attacks against the KA, a couple of these were at nice Saturday times. In that time, the KA has attacked 16 times, some of these also at nice Saturday times.

I am not complaining. I like battles (although one can get too much of a good thing :) ). I would just like people to keep the record straight. If you want to pick and choose to cast aspersions against people for using lousy tactics, I'm sure that we can cast plenty back as well.

By the way, thank you for your declaration against my guild. It was an awesome battle, very exciting and clean, on both phases. :)
