(( For anyone who is wondering and doesn't know, during the Episode 2 conflict (the "Temple Wars"), Xavier said this and it ended up ingame as basically Tryton said "All you neutrals should fight for whoever is losing in order to preserve balance". ))

It appears to me like a quick and badly done solution to malke everyone join in a faction and make more intense the Temple Wars; A bad GM resource, looks like. But only a person who lives that could say that for sure, not me.

And this is what gets me about you, in particular, GJ; and neutrals in general.

You are looking for something perfect.

The Kamis are vile murderers of hominkind.
The Karavan belive in progress.

They both have thier dark points in history that would give plenty of fodder to those who do not want to support them in order to maintain "moral supieriority" (your phrase, remember, not mine).

But you want someone perfect. With either no history or a spotless one. You want the obvious and easy choice between "perfect" and "bad" so that you can keep "moral supieriority" and get all the faction perks.

If there ever is a third faction, it certainly can not be a flawless one and still allow the game to have any semblance of balance. Any third power would have to have the same entanglements the other two have. And when it does, you will be right back here, saying that there is no viable neutral faction.

No.
Just 'space'.
It doesn't need to be that well defined, it just needs room for people to express themselves.

EDIT: Think of it as an ideological Ryzom Ring.

One shouldn't assume.

You'd worship, follow, fight and be willing to die for something you don't fully like or believe in? I think following your own beliefs is better then following something you don't like because you dislike the other offical alternative a bit more.

Do you agree 100% with everything your family/friends believe in?

Also there is no death, combat is like playing a full contact sport. Do you have to have a moral reason to play a pickup game of basketball?

I play with much more focus against my friends and family then I do strangers.

This isn't actually true by lore. People do die and the more often you 'perish' the more likely you are supposed to be to be unressurectable. So no, it's not like a combat sport, however the mechanics are supposed to work. (This is a major problem with rationalising combat in all MMOs though). Sports tribalism is a whole different cauldron of piscine lifeforms.

Before we start the same discussions again, please look at the title of this thread:

Understanding each other calmly (Neutrals, Kami, Karavan)

Moy asked why neutrals play neutral, to understand it better, and not (as I understood it) why neutral is a better or worse choice then any of the other...

So please before stating or asuming something about somebody else, please ask it in a question. So the other person can think about it and answer it, and maybe we all might understand it -why- he said that...
