i totally agree, putting this pressure ont hem 12 hours after they got the game.... why

Firstly what does QFE mean?

Anyways, to address the "pressure" issue:

Without a doubt everyone who cares wants this to work, and everyone (inc GF) has, in one way or another a form of 'time frame' in their mind. It may not be an exact period of time, but there will be a limitor of description. If GF dont expect us to want things from them within the 'near' future then... well, i think you understand where im coming from.

Now i dont want them to rush new content out and make it rubbish, but why would they spend a vast amount of money on somthing if they are not going to improve it/advance it? I'm sure that they welcome the 'pressure' It shows that the Ryzom community and players actually give crap. GF need to know that we're serious and that we expect results, because frankly we do.

Theres no need to be hyper-senstive to GF. Im sure they are grown up enough (if they read this) to understand where im coming from. If they didnt expect this to appear then surly that would be a bit nieve?
if people expect them to do great stuff in a couple of months I'm pretty sure SoR won't last long with that kind of expectations
Lets hope people dont put a couple of months when they vote then ey?

Regardless of all of the above. GF will take things in their own time, at their own pace. they will settle down and they will take the game in the way that they want to take it. You say that this poll will put pressure on them. unlikely. It will just measure what people expect.

qfe = quoted for emphaty..

i just think ur a bit to hasty, i rather would wait for their official statement of what they see for a future for us then put pressure on them already. just my 2 cents.

Peace.

Yes, we all want it to work. But doesn't it already? What kind of fixes is it that they need to implement to prove their worth? I honestly have no time frame in mind, what so ever. All they have to do is not ruin it.

I'm sure they will eventually advanec the game further, hopefully thereby improving it, but with the preservation of most of the dev crew, I'm confident we won't be disappointed.

I'm gonna enjoy the game as it is, and take the changes as they come. I'm here till they break it, not till they "fail to fix" it.

I didn't vote, I'm happy with Ryzom and it will take a drastic change for me to consider leaving, I'm just glad things have worked out so well.

I'm not expecting to see anything "spectacular" in the first 3 months or so. Like others have stated already, thats an unrealistic timeframe to make any sort of new content thats going to be of any sort of quality, unless its finishing content that was already close to being finished before the transfer of ownership.

What i WOULD like to see in the first 1-3 months however, is regular updates. There are very many small things that have been broken in-game since launch, and players have been anticipating their repair or implementation for quite some time. The latest patch was a good example of "small" things being changed, and making a vast difference in gameplay.

The corrections to the guild connection list, as well as the friends online status' has been long coming, but now correcting their funtionality makes the screens actually useful for once.

Inconsistency in weapon speeds as well was a problem, but now should bring much diversity back the the skills we see being played everyday. I'd hope to see some "small" similar tweaking to other skill branches to make them more widely used. I'll be glad to see people using 1h weapons and daggers now, and would like to see more people be encouraged to try range as well.

So no, i'm not looking for miracles here (at least not at first ;) ), but i'd like to see patches like we just had be implemented more quickly, and regularly. This patch didn't feature anything that was especially earth shattering, just many small things to improve the current gameplay we already enjoy.

Most other games have bi-weekly/weekly small patches, followed by larger updates monthly or bi-monthly, i'd like this game to start following similar practices.

Having already given Nevrax two and a half years, and having no regrets on that score, I voted to give Gameforge all the time they need to realize the original promise and vision of the Saga :D

Voted "longer." Time isn't really a factor to me, more what they do with the game regardless of whether they do it soon or not. If they WoWack it, I'm very likely to be out.

Aside from that, they've already proven themselves in one aspect by keeping Nevrax developers and Jolt.

Same here. It's more a matter of what they do. I'm hoping however that GF can possibly expand the current dev team as to make game enhancments and corrections arrive faster on the live shards, breath the Saga into live anew and plan some serious advertisement while maintaining the current feel of the game.

But what I am expecting most is open and regular communication of what is going on, being developped, being pondered on, planned, envisioned, delayed, etc ...
