Nice good post indeed,

Most questions have been answered, I will just give a different comment:
As you said it itself, before lvl 20 (I should say beforelvl 50 or 100), one can only scratch the surface of the game but all the mechanism one find at start are still present after. They are just much much complex-deep..

-Crafting and Harvesting: you already understood the incidence of some particular mats on crafting and the difficulty-challenge of finding those mats...
Now, in Silan you can only have access to Basic and fine mats.. On Mainland you also have access to better mats : choice, exc and supreme (from harvest and drops).
The last exc and supreme mats are weather, time and season dependant and supreme can only be found in Prime Roots (sort of caves with a lot of aggros).
Those will give your crafted items even better stats that you have seen in Silan (some real skilled crafters manage to have a minimum of 2 stats on this item at 100%)..
The supreme mats from Mobs are from bosses: Uber "daddies" of each mobs which are surrounded by minions: no homin can hope to kill one alone: hence the teams-treks to go hunt those (for fun or for mats)...

-Combat-magic (I could add harvesting to that) are all fully customisable through the stanzas you saw... The more you progress, the more options open to you for customisation...

-Wild life and exploring is the same: it becomes even more detailled-rich on mainlands.. example of "Named mobs" (those are little like bosses but have no minions which have very very long patrol routes and which route change according to season). Those you would litterally have to follow for a full atys year in order to understand their pattern..

As said, you discovered the tree (big one I agree) but behind is the forest :)

Welcome to Atys.. )

Your off to a good start...

Your questions are many, but your sense of discovery pops through in your words. In the wide world of Atys you'll see some things different than you may be used to... the migrations can be significant, and some animals have a smaller area they move seasonally. Materials will normally be in the same spots if you find them assuming they are available during the particular season.

There are a few trains of thought on playing... alot of the indepth info is on various websites... the more you search for the less you will discover on your own. Choose the path that makes the game better for you, it seems to me that you prefer the learning on your own and just asking to have the blanks filled in playstyle.

I think you'll very much enjoy Atys...
