as others have gently pointed out you probably havent scratched the surface in a month, there is a wealth of lore and story waiting for you to find it.
stating you have a huge problem with bugs and not listing any isnt a very helpful point to make, there are some sure, name me one mmorpg that doesnt have bugs and i'll buy you a drink, but all are minor annoyances there isnt a single one that approaches being game breaking is there?
finally, good travels and i hope you find your game soon

That's not true. I've been searching for a good MMORPG for about a year or so now and have played TONS for lengthy amounts of time, and just found it....RYZOM! WoW, Endless, and other flat games I've played just don't compare! I'm a very heavy roleplayer and this game allows me to create and play a character of my choice, also expanding the storyline created by so many others here who have a part.
I don't like games where I just mindlessly hack and slash, not really roleplay. In fact this is the ONLY MMORPG I've found yet. All of the others just severely lack the RP, therefore just an MMOG...which is pretty bad being that I want to someday create RPGs. Story and character elements are everything to me, so when I can pick apart a game and say it has storya nd character development, I know what I'm talking about. I've been tirelessly studying RPGs for years now, and this is the BEST one I've seen yet.

I'm also puzzled as to the large number of outstanding bugs to be fixed. Aside from stutter stepping from my network link being on some latency boundry, I've run across very few gameplay issues.

Then you have now fallen in love, all those before this where just practice and sampling the goods

On a serious note, I' found this line very interesting, could you elaborate ?

Humm you expressed your opinions of that game, i'll give mine =)
you complain about the lack of characters in that game. I feel it got lots of them... played by players. I can not thank enough some of the more RP-minded folks here that really make this game something special for me, for example i enjoy the Samsaras acting very much. And theres lot of others too.
The bugs.. well there are flaws in it, missing rites come to mind. But after one year of playing i have yet to find a bug that would seriously spoil the gameplay for me.
Well you are right - this isnt SWG.It is Ryzom. Its something different

I want a bit of continuity between the main lore and my scenarios. I'm sure its good but it just doesn't pull me towards it. If you get what I mean. No insult, that's just why I haven't shown interest, which given my RPaholic status one might think I might.
I understand what you are saying. My only response to that is to give you the general idea behind my first series of scenarios... "nothing is as it seems".

Nobody brought up the fact of almost every (other) week official events. I've seen large battless between players, Ive seen a Karavan Envoy speak to the crowds in Matis, Ive seen the leaders of Homin kind (Emperor Dexton, Grand Sage Mabreka, King and Queen Yrkanis, late Governor Still Wyler and the new Governor A'ien [or something to that extend of a name), I've seen playera fight and craft for their beliefs to create Temples, I've assisted in search parties in the slums of Pyr looking for victims of a Kidnapper. Just to name a few, all ingame.
You can't tell me those aspects don't forward a story and that they are simply on the web.
I admit, the grand storyline has moved slowly, and I too would like to see it advance forward, possibly already on the second planet if Nevrax still has plans to make multiple planets in the storyline, but, you can't say there's no story.

I'm sorry, I just have to laugh at this. WoW's PvP is so broken they are tearing out the entire system and replacing it in the Xpak. Unless you are a Warlock, a Shadow Priest or in an AQ40/Naxx raiding guild you are SoL in PvP.
They're never going to take customers from WoW...
Take me away? Not immediately. I have friends in WoW that I'm not ready to leave despite frustrations with the game. But I intend to subscribe to Ryzom and will play both games. Ryzom is that good imo.
I can't speak to the rest of your post as I'm relatively new to MMORPGs but when it comes to your comments on WoW I felt the need to post a reply (going on 2 years and waaay too many alts
).

Story?
Lore?
*cough*
You complain about bugs in Ryzom, yet you also came from SWG, a craptacular game with 10x more bugginess than this one (o yea, I'm from there, too). Pre CU combat system was nice, but the Bugs and the crappy service were far far far worse than any you'd find in Ryzom.
Yet another thread started by a player seeking to have functions from their previous game be inserted into Ryzom. Stop rocking my happy-Ryzom-boat, and go take a dive off the side.
