To be blunt, I think the answers to #1 by the vets here are grossly misleading. So I am going to toss in my own 2 cents as a 5-month vet with level 100-ish abilities.
There is a possible way. But it is hard. You have to watch carefully. You almost definitely will die at least a few times. You will have to run from things, and you'd better hope you're running into a safe area, because when that speed boost (if you have it) expires, if you're still surrounded by hostiles, your life is measured in nanoseconds. For example, one way to do this is to only move when speed boost is "up". I know someone who does it like this... move slowly and carefully. The second he gets jumped -- Speed boost! -- run from danger. As soon as it's safe? He alt-tabs out of Ryzom and starts a 10 minute timer (or however long till SB is back up) and surfs the web. This means his treks take hours upon hours to complete. It's possible, yes. Is it fun? Would not be for me, and I sure as hell don't call this "an easy way to get" from Pyr to Yrkanis (or etc).
Yes, I understand that to a vet, doing these treks solo may not be difficult, but to a new player, there is no easy way to get from one land to another. Frankly it is one of the few things I dislike about Ryzom.

To the vets -- read this carefully. He did not ask "Is it possible?" He asked, "Is there an easy way" to get from Pyr to Yrk, or Pyr to Zora, etc. The answer is most emphatically and definitely - NO.
