Just as a matter of innocent speculation, and one presented from an OOC perspective, perhaps the use of the Kami is more of a subtle hint that they are indeed native to Atys whilst the Karavan are truly alien beings come to take the resources of Atys...

I seem to see more Kami associations with Atys than Karavan...

Of course... as a Matis... I would be beaten with a yubo if I said such things IC.

Tbh I think the font used in the text the kami speaks is a bit "cartoony" or something... either way I really didn't think it suited the Ryzom environment :/
