I think the best way this could work is if we have a set of alts that form a guild for contact and communication purposes. These don't need to be very high since they'll simply spend some time hanging around the capitals signing people up for a trek. They could also be contacted via ingame mail. We'd need representatives for all four races.

The actual trekking could then be done with our main characters.

I think it's a very good idea, will take some work to get it going and keep it organised but has great merit. Regular, organised trips would definitely be very cool.

Ok this seems to be the consensus, those with time and inclination to hang around with an alt could do so, other wise we have so far,

Crythos
Tyilin
Trixie
Kostika
Sheenathecat
Scorpius
Rheayen
Utai
Philu (Sorry dont know IG name)
Trini
Zok
Zahan
Ffionnys
Jamela

As points of contact who could message each other if contacted regarding a trip.

For those who may want to create an alt as a more visible point of contact could we have some guild name suggestions.

Trekking Guide For Newer Players (copied and editted from original post by Jinari)

Since we have many new people in game that have not made it to other lands and probably have not done a lot of major group activities yet, I thought I'd post the rules and guidelines that are to be followed when doing these types of treks/runs.

** First and foremost: This is not for XP. It is not for fighting. In fact we hope to not have to fight at all on these trips. These trips are solely for the purpose of getting people new spawn points and teleport tickets - period.

** When you first meet up please try to team quickly.

** Somone will assume the role of Main guide, This may change over the course of the trip, pay attention to who it is and follow them

** If you get in front of the "Main Guide" yours and everyones safety can be put at risk

** Stay with the group. Stay as grouped together as possible. DO NOT stray from the path. Once again: We may not be able to come get you if you are wandering around. If you are lagging, please let us know as soon as possible.

** DO NOT LOOT ANYTHING!!! Things can respawn fast if you loot the dead bodies. We cannot afford this. Rez the dead and MOVE!

** If you are aggro'd: Please Shout "Aggro" and where you are within the group. So if you are in the middle of the group and you get aggro: Shout "Aggro Middle".

** If you go down, Shout "Down".

** Do NOT Attack anything that has not already aggro'd on us. If it hasn't attacked you.. DO NOT attack it. This is not an xp run. We do not fight unless we have to. Those who insist on attacking random stuff may be left too their own fate in the interests of the trek

** WATCH YOUR TARGETING!!!! Check your target window before attacking ANYTHING. Mistargets are the number 1 reason for us having to restart, and this can cost us several hours worth of time. Not fun.

** Use macros if need be to avoid mistargets.

** Use Around and Region chat. Keep your chat tab on USER and your talk tab on REGION. We have lots of teams and need to communicate well to make this work.

** I repeat - WATCH YOUR TARGETING!

** Do NOT linger in a spawn point. This can be deadly. Rez the dead and MOVE!

** Watch for instructions from the run leader. This can include MOVE.. AGGRO... whatever. There is normally a reason behind some of the odd ones. .

**Make sure you have Dappers for TP tickets, Older players may well help you out with this but If you can please allow for cost of new tickets.

If you need a melee or a healer for a trek, feel free to count me in. Since I don't think that I will find enough time to raise an alternate character, and don't have a second account, I think it is easier to contact my main character.

Put Zok down as a pilot for future flights. He used to be a co-pilot with (Project) Mayhem Airlines, before the company went bust; but he has been keeping in training with a few small flights. :)

Zok is usually up for a trip to get homins to whereever they wish to go, but I don't really have time for logging an alt in to get times etc. I suggest the name 'Atys Airlines' :D

Rootwalkers :p ? *gives up* Anyhow I'd really like a update on things :)

and btw, if there is some webspace/stuff needed you might have noticed I'm trying to work up a site, so I'd be happy to put off some space for that, maybe have a little notice stating when and from where the next trekk goes and things :)

No more thoughts on formalising things yet but I just reffered another poster with travel problems to this thread so he may contact somone on the list and we can get somthing together with those in the list online at the time.

Anyone else wishing to volunteer post or PM and I will keep the list updated.

PS "rootwalkers" is a great name :)

With in-team healing allowed in GvG regions I don't understand the need for the creation of an alt guild, it could even find itself something of an obstacle in the extreme case of a trekee having already declared allegiance to some side. What's important is having a point of contact that as many people as posible are aware of and a list of ready volunteers. You've essentially already established that with your list of names. I suggest a stickied thread called ... ummm ... The Escape Committee :) ... with a maintained list of ingame names and forum names for people to try to contact or for others to reference. Then trekees can post on the thread with their request and details about ingame name, timezone and playing times, starting point and destination, they can PM contacts through the forum (like Philu) or try to /tell if they are ingame at the time.

Sign me up too. Bear in mind I have a very high DP : tp ratio :D But DP is good for you.
