Glad I could help ;)
That's actually what I am doing, but as has been said before, be prepared to spend quite some time exploring, digging and crafting - which is just as enjoyable, if not for the impatient.

The only limit is your imagination ;)

Awesome. I have grown tired of the limited scope of most games out today..particularly WoW where character development and even playstyle is highly restricted.

Oops apologies to any budding ammo vendors out there, for an older player switching to ranged prolly sitting on a couple of hundred mil dappers buying ammo could be an option ;)

Ranged in this game seems to be the slowest to level, and the most rewarding to use. I never found myself tired of the grind while at it, as there ware many task at hand, and it was a lot more complex than just killing mobs. Lately I did level some melee, to be of use in OP battles a bit sooner, but overall, if you are patient, It’s a very interesting skill.

One thing this skill could use though, it’s a bit more of diversity. Right now it mostly comes from the ability to swap bullets, but I would like to see two improvements

1)making it so attack after critical hit apply to ranger hit, they could even apply it to attack after dodge, I can see it having sense.

2) Giving a bit higher critical chance to aimed attacks, it would be lots of fun to hunt for certain hit effects during the fight (shoting at legs to slow down the targt for example), but at this point the regular chance for critical attack is just not high enough for you to sacrifice credits for aimed shots (well, unless you go for headshots when some H/MA user is not wearing any headgear)

(Sorry for hijacking this thread a bit, these two suggestions ware on my mind for some time and I didn’t want to make another ranged thread :P )

Kiting means running and shooting, doesn't it? Do people object to that?

You "kite" when using that tactic against the game (exploit). When you kite you only attack to drag the target (i.e. only shooting to keep agro going). For instance you would be kiteing if you dragged Dai-den to Zora.

In SoR you are constantly attacking the target to kill it, the drag is just effect of it (not an exploit).

Don't know if that made it more clear. :o

"kite" is no exploit.. altho in early Ryzom days, one player tried to convince other player that it is.

btw, you cant drag mob over certain distance (300m or so i think). when you reach that, you can just root that mob (or keep it feared) and it never come after you, instead (tries to) go back to it's "spawn".
