Welcome to Ryzom!! :D Just a side rant here for Kibs! Happy 21st Birthday! and you beat me again! Ok back on topic! To be totally honest with you, you need to subscribe to totally "see" what Ryzom has to offer! The mainland is totally different from the island in two big aspects IMO! First the populus is not as concentrated on the mainland as the island so grouping is a bit harder but not bad and second leveling is a a lot easier on the mainland because the mobs are higher lvls except right around the cities same with Harvesting the Mats are higher also. I hope this helps a bit in your judgement of the game. If you have any questions please send a tell to Znathara but be advised the observation are from only being on the mainland for like 2 days myself and being in game for maybe 1 month!

To be honest I plan to chill on the free island to get a feel for the game and learn the basics. I think the monthly subscription is pretty substantial so I will consider it indepth before going to mainland.

I am happier the population is more on free as I will have more people to talk to and hopefully offer me help and guidance. It's funny, in all the games I have played, I am normally the guy to help others, its refreshing to be on the other side for a change.

Thanks for your offer, I will be sure to ask if I need assistance.

Kindest regards,

-Ajay-

Well my 1st day of play and I must say, I am impressed.

There seems to be a steep learning curve but if you take the time and patience, the game is very enjoyable. I have managed to get my fighting up to a good standard, those flying Izams were owning me at first but soon afterwards after I had made my own axe and killed a few dozen Yubos, I was one hitting them also...lol.

Maging looks pretty good, not practised it too much yet, was busy doing missions and training melee as I found it was the fastest way to make money.

Crafting has so many combinations its mind blowing, I was experimenting a lot and have a nice purple set of armour, I look good too. :) Harvesting it like fishing, take a lot of trial and error to achieve results. All in all a good start.

Many thanks to Aptdezyr (Elder of Atys) whom I met and whom was very helpful. To be honest, everyone I met ingame has been very informative and forthcoming to aid me when I have a question or two.

Anyhow its late now and I got to get some sleep before work. bye for now.

Kindest regards,

-Ajay-

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying yourself! :) This game does have a pretty good learning curve but it also helps to weed out the immature players hence the community that is here!

My 1st week playing here and these are my thoughts:

Melee is so far my favourite skill, I thought it would be magic and craft but its melee. I have done the Red blades 2 and love the fire wrath sword, I look sexy now! :P

Harvesting is by far the hardest skill to level, it takes so much patience it is unreal, but atleast I learnt how to edit actions and learnt the power of using stanzas.

The missions are good, great balance, some harder and complex than others. The ingame guides are top draw, explain everything clearly and very well laid out, I take my hat off to whomever compiled those.

Finally the community is great, lots of people willing to help and even though I have been only playing a week, I have helped lots of others. Today I rez my mate who kept dying at goo heads, he finally did mission 3rd time lucky, I on the other hand was 1 hitting them..lol. I have only met 2 ignorant players who took the mickey out of me on my 2nd day playing, the morons. They thought it was funny I was a newb and ignored me a lot even though they invited me into the team. To them I say, simple politeness doesnt take time or effort, we were all newbs once and its stupid laughing at lower levels only because you played longer.

All in all, a very positive 1st week! Thanks to all that have helped me thus far to enjoy the game to its potential.

Kindest regards,

-Ajay-

I can win an argument on any topic, against any opponent. People know this, and steer clear of me at parties. Often, as a sign of their great respect, they don't even invite me.
