In a word: Wow.

In more words, this tickles me. I found myself staring at the scripts on the Silan ruined buildings, but I'm afraid I don't have quite the drive you do. I'm content to look at them and think "Hm, I wonder".

I look forward to the outcome of this project, being someone interested in languages and deciphering and all things geeky/crazy involving communication!

Starting with the matis ones was indeed my intention... But alas... All the samples we have are the ones on the tower-kind trees. And there is just a 16 symbol phrase over and over again :( That's simply not enough...

Allthough... the matis characters look mysteriously similar to the D'ni writing from Myst series :D

(The second Link is broken.)

But hmhmmm, If then maybe they´re inspired by the Dn´i signs. The Matis writing looks much more fluent, a bit like arabic. Dn´i is more angular, but they do have some similarities.
In an ooold Adventure "Pool of Radiance" there was an Elvish language that looked a lot more like Matisian ;)
*g* We used to write letters during class in that language to cunfuse our teachers if the caught us :p
But that was over 15 years ago... I´don´t remember anything, just a bit of the looks.

Komissar, I agree with the others that this is awsome.

(Wish I had your skills, but have to confess that even the maya pictorals is beyond me. They intrigue me because of C. Castañedas books. I even reasoned it's just artists who made them, with no linguistic training; so why bother.)

And if you can make some sense into our signs, please teach us to read and write :p

Amazing work, Komissar. :)

Karm, the Maya hieroglyphs have been largely deciphered and read over the last thirty years or so.

Yep and i even managed to contribute a bit :)
Maya are really cool... love this script.

but anyways, I hate to repeat myself but...
But I would be really thankful if you could give me a bit of a hand in this: I need pictograms from male and female LA skirt (large pls )and from zorai shields and ranged weapons as well (have only rifle). I have never been inside a zorai apartment... maybe they have something special there too? I have only one screenie of a zorai GH (main hall) but maybe there is something else?

:D
