Please don't hang me on my words. Like I said I'm new to the game, and much of my information was given to me from other players. Because the Kami own 6 of the 28 OP's, its obvious that Karavan don't win ALL of them. Yet the Karavan own about 80% of the OP. Now, how can you justify that it is fair or even remotely balanced?

Somone even mentioned that the Kami : Karavan ratio is even closer than some admit... how can that be true with such a drastic imbalance in OP control? I'm sure that whomever said that is on the Karavan side, not wanting to admit to the truthful absurdity.

For any game to be successful, I think each race and faction it professes to have should be as compitient as the next. But honestly it doesn't feel so.

I guess I will stick with my roots, and support the Kami. By choosing to side with Karavan I will only increase the problem, but I know, and you can see, that most people don't think like that, nor should they. New players should have the freedom to play as they feel necessary without having to deal with an unblanaced PVP-ridden system.

Sorry to seem so negative. Its just an awkward situation for a new player in my opinion.

i can see this slipping into yet another 10+ page.. erm whats a nice word.. debate, so my last contribution to it.

the actual # of players of each faction isnt wildly unbalanced, but the will to fight is, with more karavan being up for a scrap. make of it what you will.

as a new player on the kami side it's fair to say that most if not all the op holding guilds will help you out with cats or materials, just ask and don't dispair ok ;)

The kamis might own 6, but the karavan dont own the rest. Lots of neutrals with outposts also.

Im not saying that it isnt unbalanced, as it clearly is.

The balance of power shifts over time, there was a time when the karavan didnt get a look in at the supernodes, though admitedly that was before the cats gained from outpost ownership arrived, arguably reinforcing the more powerful side. Having said that, I know that the kamis have plenty of cats knocking about, you dont have to own an outpost to gain cats. We trade amongst our alliance, with neutrals, and with some kamis too, so really i dont think its a big as issue as some people make it out to be.

The real test will be when spires arrives :S

Im pretty confident that the kamis will rise again, given time :)

The karavan own 6 of 8 Q250 outposts, they own 5 of 8 Q200 OPs, 3 are owned by neutral 0 by kami.

Lower Q outposts are far less valueble, so of the 16 most valuble outposts the kami own 2, neutrals own 3 and the karavan own 11, outposts should be owned in proportion to the amount of people are of one mind, i dont deny the karavan have more numbers so should own more outposts, but the current situation is a joke, why should the kami lvl at half the speed?
and as rundll says the time will come when the kami are dominent, and when we own the majority of outposts i will make an effort not to trade with the karavan. :)

It should be noted that two of those Q250 outposts are owned by Karavan aligned guilds that are known to fight against other Karavan aligned guilds. They should not be lumped in the same category, the situation is more complex then just Kami vs Karavan.

I believe that situation arose simply because of the balance issues raised here. If the ratio was closer to 50/50 (like it was back in Jan.) they would be fighting alongside the karavan again. They just had the decency to attempt to make the OP fights balanced and more fun for everyone.

no no, i heard it was 10:1 (read below)

this comes from neutral (in-game term), kami/kara forces are equal when there is important op defence battle going on (q250 ops).
all other times you see this "imbalance".

it's way easyer to defend OP than attack (you need way more ppl). kami side can put together equal group compared to kara, but they cant (greatly) overnumber kara to take higher op's. (and kara cant put up big enough force to take q250 kami op for example).

so, when you talking about inbalance, also include which outpost battle was it.

I used to think the kami / karavan population was not inbalanced. I am 100% sure now that it is, I dont care squat for those who disagree with me.

If we pull everyone together for an op fight we get an equal number to the karavan that have half bothered to to organise. If you did pull everyone we would be vastly outnumbered.

look at the guild listings, karavan have several large guilds the kami have 1-2. I dont actually think the OP's are disproportinate with regards to kami/karavan though, more that its reflective of the populations involved. Notice the karavan dont have many guilds who own 2 outposts. They make sure they have 1 outpost at least, the kami are about the same (except my guild ofc)
