Yeah the rules make sense imo, 5 melee versus 5 melee isnt much of a test of anything

Can you take a squad and field different players for each fight?

Yes a ranged is classed as melee, but would be free to run around like a loon getting out of the range of attackers.
The team you put forward for the first attack "should" remain the same, if one person has to leave then you could replace them, but as a genral rule the same team should start as should finish.

You need to be more precise on the 2 man melee

Does it mean youre only allowed to have 2 melee at any one time, or at the beginning of the round, if 2 people start as melee, no one else is allowed to use a melee weapon.

Im looking from the point of view of....im a mage....my 2 melee are dead, i run out of sap....can i bash them with my axe?

As i said on my post, it does not matter who melees as long as there is no more than 2 meleers on one team at one time

I will do my best to come watch, but I personally don't like the melee rule and will not participate. I don't want 5v5 melee anymore than I want ONLY 2 melee. I want the teams to FFA and the best 5 win based on ALL the skills they bring to the fight.

Could this rule be due to what is implied with the bonus round, the winner will get to fight a KoO squad ? Are you all only set to defend against mages and worrying about what guns and blades will do to your PvP gear ?

doubletap, the reason he implemented the idea was I suggested KoO went all melee as it had worked so well for us in the past when raiding your fine home of yrkanis. With a few master spearmen and a master pikeman which we have we could easily handle an all melee team. The rule was put in place so that we could not do that nor could others.

I hope that clears things up. I'm sure out of the competition we could organise a melinoe vs KoO all melee match if your really so insistant about it.

stop being such a spoiler and get a team together to have a little fun, this aint the olympics and non of it is personal. All we want is a nice event and thats what kye has been kind enough to set up in the hope you guys enjoy it too.

If you dont want to take part dont, no one is forcing you, im organising this event by popular demand and dont really care if one sulky person dosnt want to take part because the rules dont favour them.

As for the winners having a "optional" fight against KoO, this is purly because i didnt want to enter a team and if they won have people like you saying its fixed, i can list the amount of master meleers we have in guild and the amount of lvl 201+ in ranged, this rule is in place to suit everyone taking part.
