So why did you? I don't want to suggest that you are bragging, but it does seem that way :o

EDIT : ....not that I don't want you and your friends to put craploads of money into 'zom, of course!

I'm perfectly serious!
Circumstances have meant I couldn't expand as I wanted to this year and don't have the money to catch back up. So, if you're feeling generous ;)

Ey, I was seriuos too :D (although I can´t guarantee any returning profit, unless you count a very happy Homin as profit ;) :D )
Actually, Sesune, I think there are more "private" and businesslike" channels to contact Nevrax about such things. So you better do that, then you might just be a little more successfull in these things ;)

Don't worry I intent to get in contact with them in "private" and "businesslike" channels as soon as they prove to the world that, though small and scarcely funded, they cant be pushed around. Yes i mean R2. :)

It may have seemed like my bragging but consider that a hint for nevrax that there are so many eyes on them for creating a such game with so much potential.

*nods* Oh yes, potential it has a lot. *waggels green ears* ;)

No, but seriously. It would be a real treat to see Nevrax gain some leverage and above all stand in the Industry. I think, and taht´s just my oppinion, that up until know they were pretty much underestimated by their peers in the business and most of them scoffed at the idea of such a small Company gaining any foothold in it. I realy hope and wish for Nevrax to show them that "the little Man" can indeed reach the stars and with enough determination can achive a groundbraking success.
Maybe I´m caught in the "rush and exitement" of the creation of something new. Even if I´m only a bystander and don´t have anything to do about and with it´s success.
But I´m with Ryzom and Nevrax out of a feeling for the proverbial "underdog", and an absolute belive in their ability to "pull this stunt off".
I hope I´m not delusional in any way and I´m pretty sure that my mental health isn´t decreasing in any rate faster then normal for my age, but I´m with Nevrax and I´ll do my best to support them with my meager ressources and help them reach their personal stars.

Although I agree and share the same wishes, I do hope ryzom fulfills its potential and I would like to enjoy the game for the incoming years, a minor thought: the first Acri's quoted snippets can indeed reflect Nevrax status as of *now*, but for the sake of completeness let me just point out that Nevrax at the begining wasn't *that* small (~50+), that the development took a few years and although not in the same league as Blizzard or SOE, it's budget (~16M Euros?) wasn't extremely low.

I would not consider Nevrax pre-launch a "very small" / "underdog" / "oh poor fellows" company, which makes me (wrongfully?) think that some bad choices were made. Let's forget about the past and look into a bright future, but Ryzom foundations and framework is not the result of only a "tight passionate tiny group of robin hood developers". And one can objectively evauate the work produced by time windows and available resources starting from 2002.

This, of course, without precluding the fact that a) it does indeed remain a comercial project, with a profit long term goal and, personal feelings aside, (would they share part of their benefits with their player base had they been extremely successful? :P ) player subscription fees are of the same order than similar projects and b) ther are different players with different expectations, ranging from "great as is" to "nowhere near what one could expect from a new gen MMRPG."

Good news to hear, Sesune. Hopefully you won't be disappointed and Nevrax will indeed gain more business and financial support. I want more armour types! :)

But, iphdrunk, If I recall correctly back when I first joined, I believe that Nevrax was indeed a good sized company with a good sized budget, however, they lost their major financial backing due to wanting to keep their ideas and priorities theirs, and not fully submit to the demands of their "captor". So the two companies broke deals.

On a side note, I did some research and apparently the Themis Group or Tri Synergy aren't listed as Official Partners for Ryzom anymore.

sesune, you have implied a lot in your first few posts, but your last post says to me that you are 'just hinting' to Nevrax that your dad will buy you the company, 'if it becomes successful'.

Have you actually approached Nervax with an offer?

Why invest in an existing game that is 2+ years old, when with the sums you say you have available you could be investing in a new PC game, in a market that is sadly lacking anything new and innovative?

Just interested and only asking because you have chosen to publish your wealth and intent in a public forum.
