thanks a lot xeraphim and jamela, your answers were exactly that i needed to know. I think that the skill description is quite poor, i didn't found any usefull informations on those subjects in official tutorials and it was a little frustrating experience for me. But with your tips and some practice I understand the foraging mechanics much better now.

I also read parts of your tutorial vguerin and those informations were neither to find there. I think they may be important as they presented some challenge to me, maybe you should incorporate it into your tutorial (those 2 posts from xeraphim and jamela).

once again thanks a lot for the help

see ya around

Are they worthwhile? Well if you want to find your own sources for crafting something in particular then, yes, they're invaluable.
I have thought the "major" mat prospection stanza helps me to pop sources that contain more mats; i think i find more spots containing 16+ sources when i use "major", instead of the 10, 11 or 12 nodes sources.
But that might as well be wishful thinking on my side :)

Aah, Posmo suggested that to me too, but I myself have seen no evidence to suggest it's true. I only use the mat specs (find fibre), are you using craft specs (find cloth), Gloife?

i only use mats spec. I dig jungle (lvl 225) and PR (175) and only use the mts spec in the jungle, as i see no point wasting focus on it down in the roots.
With major wood i recon i get 4-5 nodes with more than 16 mats per pop of 6, whereas in PR i get about 3 nodes of 11 or 12 per pop. Again, just my feeling, bu i think it is correct. I'm not somebody who will put pencil and paper next to the keyboard to run a statistical analysis, though :)

I find that the major prospection seems to pop better sources (higher content) as well and being more likeley to pop a source.
But its most important feature for me is that it seems to make the Deposit tracking alot more accurate.
Ths is all merely speculation but it seems to work for me :D
