Common abbreviation for "teleporter". To access remote parts of Atys, one must first hike to them. But once you arrive at a spot that has a teleporter, you may buy a ticket and use it to return to that teleporter. All tickets are one-shot only, so you buy a new one each time you use it. You asked about factions: The faction you belong to will dictate which of the teleporters you'll be allowed to buy tickets from.

So customization is low in this game...atlest as far as asets go
You're neglecting that armors can be mixed and matched.
Hair and tattoos do matter. With those two factors (armor + hair/tattoos), you can end up recognizing characters purely by their appearance, even at a distance.

Yeah, but its still armor, and youre still only mixing about 10 sets...
That doesnt Really leave allot of room for true uniqueness.
My comment about hair and face, Helmets cover those nicely..

That's why a lot of people don't wear helmets.

wow, that was fast, you must like. Live here. Or you are at work like me.
Nah, i was just hoping for more community tools like houses and towns...and player customization falls into that for me. Im still a noob, but looking at the resource sites, there really isnt allot of anything graphics wise to make your player unique.
I understand that any items can be completely different depending on the +'s and what not you used in its creation...but thats only skin deep. heh.
Housing and towns being on the top of my list.
Im glad there are apartments, but I dont think ill ever understand why they are "only you".
There nothing wrong with some predetermined areas for some good ole town building.
besides, nothing is more fun the defending it ageist a swam of aliens!

When Ring comes out, you will be able to make a land just your you and your friends, if you like. Not so much 'player housing' as 'player-made environment'. Your own quests as well, that others can take. Maybe that will fill your need, when it comes.
I know I'm looking forward to creating my own little Yubo Farm. And it will have Yubo-related quests.

Also, are there clothing options or only armor? From what i can see there are technicaly only 10 sets of armor, 3 per race.
Is there anything other than armor?
general armors:
There are 3 types of armor: light, medium, heavy armor
Each type of armor comes in three different plans: basic, medium, high quality plan
Echo piece of armor comes in one of eight colors: beige, black, blue, green, purple, red, turquise or white
Each of the four cultures has its own armors, and you can wear the armors from other cultures.
this for example makes 288 different looking boots.
boss armors:
4 suits heavy armor in beige, green, purple and turquise (only one of these bosses activated in game at the moment)
faction armors:
karavan caster pants in three colors
kami caster pants (sorry I don't know if they come in different designs)
And I'm pretty sure that the cloths I wear make me look very unique. Even if I could be copied.
Try to check out the dressing room on ballistic mystix site, and see how you can combine armor pieces.

I understand the game options you are missing, I miss them also as I used to play SWG and enjoy the world was totally controlled by the players. Logging into a different SWG server was really odd as all the cities you were accustomed to were not there.LOL.
And I was a trader in the galaxy game who sold ...clothes, weapons, resources, droids....well....everything.
when I play in Ryzom I really have to bite my lip sometimes and accept that it is not galaxies.
The unique aspects of Ryzom are more subtle and take longer to discover..such as digging the materials..I was tired of it exploding in my face, until I had it explained to me that one can dig the resource as a friend cares for the spot...this stops the embarrasing death by toxic cloud effect (mostly).
The freedom to advance my character without restrictions is also a welcome reminder of my SWG days..'before cookie cutter lando' became my forced character ...erm...choice ?
Of course Ryzom is not for all, and I will be the first to admit that I would still be happy in my Galaxy if it still existed. But I have moved on and now enjoy Ryzom and accept it's limitatations..maybe one day we will have player cities...the city would be a Bonus to me..not a game maker/breaker.

I to have been displaced from SWG after almost 3 years of play. The game I knew and loved has not been reduced to a husk of its former self. That aside.
I am a new subscriber but I have been to the main land and the hair, crown, tatoo, options along with the different armors, and jewelry and weps make the different players very distinguished.
I would also say that you underestimate what the Ryzom Ring will bring to the game. Instead of having your own home that is made up of a few different floor plans you will have your own piece of land. This land will be accessible by anyone that you want to allow into it. This land will be able to be changed as you will. From everything I have read you will also be able to add custom designed features if you have the skill or you can barrow custom designed features from others and mix it with yours to make something completely unique.

From what have been released of information by Nevrax, the terrains will be prefabbed (around 100 I think) same with all the possible content.
What you can make yourself is what is placed ingame (NPCs, mobs etc.), triggers which will change or advance the scenario and the location/areas of placed objects.
One can hope that they will allow users to create new objects etc. (like in Quake mods, to pick an example), but for the time being there will only be access to objects already found in the game.
