What is MA actually for? HA has more HP for melee, and you need LA for everything else or you get a malus. So apart from looking better than the others, what is MA for?

<---I love to prance around in MA, especially Fyros MA. I always carry MA in my bag. I usually mix MA tops including shoulders with LA pants and boots for when I’m doing magic. And use full MA set for when I melee plants. Although lately I’m favoring Tryker MA and LA.

Also I’ve seen some homins wearing MA when foraging. Supposedly there is no penalty for foraging in MA? I’ve never used it so not too sure about it but I think it be nice to have focus MA. It would give both HP and Focus bonus for a nice additional benefit. But I think that after this patch it won’t be so. Can someone confirm this?

but seriously- MA after patches became rly power gear- I started using them for everyday life on Atys and I can only highly recomend them They give u 1k more hp and good (even in not decent version) protection from melee attacks. Proper spells tweaking makes MA rly rly usefull and almost unnoticable bit more "expensive" on spells usage and by all means they Uber for lonaly travelers and explorers.
LAs I only use for bosses hunts and PvP - they still make you faster

I thought that there was a penalty but some people use a piece or 2 of focus boosted MA to boost their hp a bit over focus LA to avoid dying in explosions.

When I first started playing thats what I was told, that there is a penalty. Recently I saw someone with MA foraging and I asked about the penalty they said no penalty. I never confirm it with anyone else, I figure he was lieying. But it makes sense to use it if one needs the extra HP bonus to avoid dying from explosions.

Medium Armour is a combat magician's dream come true. More HPs and better protection. I never use LA for magic anymore.

They fixed the malus on it and it has the extra HPs, so you're gonna be a killing machine.
