Hello all,
Just chiming in to mention that I understand whitefire asking for recipees. Some of you have been a bit harsh on him, when asking for recipees is pretty common, not as much in forums but in game. I am asked for them quite often, sometimes because the player simply doesn't know it, wonders if it is possible or simply he forgot. Moreover, as ciri stated, he hasn't been the first one.
It is up to the crafter to a) have fun or not looking for recipees b) ask or not for recipees and c) answer or not to someone else asking. I've done quite a bit of a) a lot actually, and gathered a few recipees when I found it entertaining, from having dozens of pages, numerical and statistical analysis, linear regressions, trying to map white bars to numerical values and finding "modulo 100" operations.. and lots of things that other players can find even pretty boring, like solving optimization problems to know empirically the "best for the buck" overcraft ratio....
Let me add I don't think we can be called "master crafters" since other than that, it reduces to combinatory and testing, there is no skill, provided you have the mats around and time to click on boxes and write down notes. If a crafter, for whatever reason, cannot have access to some mat diversity (solo guild with no boss hunting, RP reasons to use only mats of his own ecosystem, etc) it is pretty hard to do combinations, or simply boring, or not willing to take the time to.
Wrt b) again, up to the player if he asks, he may get it, if he doesn't he won't. No biggie. Same as a player requesting for free gear. It is a request, nothing else, asked for the sake of one's benefit, as a lot of requests are...some may not ask out of pride or consider it a spoil. Others because they are shy... and c) same, if you ask and get an answer, more power for you

but as I understand players asking, I understand others not answering. It is simply a matter of "spend the same amount of time as others did" and it's part of a crafters wealth and knowledge...and giving away recipees could be seen as spoonfeeding
Nothing to see here, move along
