You would, but it doesn't always generally work that way

. Management sets schedules for deliverables from development, using what resources are required to meet a milestone, when a company has some financial wrinkles, the staff are cut from the workers generally first, so the problem of missing milestones gets worse and worse.
You look at your time requirements, your human resources, and you set priorities. You either decide fixing bugs is a priority, or new content is, both of which are hugely important to players, and normally, a developer splits their time between them, but every bit of work costs money.. and eats into what's available for something else.
If you make the decision to devote all your resources in one area, then you can't put them somewhere else right?
Anyhow, the official word we have is that most of the fixing and patching will be little things, and this particular issue could just take more resources than are available currently to deal with.
It doesn't mean they ignored our reports, it means they're not getting to them right now that's all ..
But yeah, I'd rather the major issues are addressed in the content, but really, the last patch cleared up some really major issues, at the moment, it's possible to get kami or karavan or racial honor from duelling tagged players, which is probably not intentional. The harm to the playerbase of doing so is smaller than the cost to fix it is also perhaps how it is being seen internally I dunno.
Also, generally your PR people are non-technical, they can't answer questions about bugs and such until they are told what to say by consulting with the technical folks and if they're too busy to get an answer prepared then sanitized by management, then we get no answer..
I'm guessing this gets looked into someday, but it's been given a low enough priority that R2 comes first (heck, everything has been given that priority as I see it).
Sorry, this was probably kinda obvious, trying to give my insider's insight from 8 years in the biz, but now that I read what I wrote it's kinda ... well lacking in answer lol. I think the official answer is it will be fixed tuesuary 188th, 2009!
