the questing here is still kinda basic.

We do have some rites that you can do though for amber cubes etc.

I would recommend doing them as soon as you can. Its more of a challenge at a lower level. Being at level 250 now makes questing kinda easy generally speaking

I would use the two old CD's. Well I did anyway here just over a week ago, when I had a hard-disc faliure. The patches to download was at 330MB+ :)

And welcome back to Atys

I've seen amber cubes mentioned, but I've no idea what they do... but you're saying I should do them with a higher level character rather than a noob character?

Hmm, so, downloading 330Mb of patches might take less time than downloading a 1.5Gb executable....

And thanks :D

They are like segments required for rites where a rite = about 4 or 5 missions tied together.

I meant that you should do them as soon as you can if you wanna enjoy them. If you do thema t a higher level they will feel less challenging.

So, they might be more satisfying when done by a newly arrived noob in the main city rather than an older character, cool. Would the rewards for the rites be worth getting for said older character?

well they have civ fame requirments - 30-36 i think (maybe only 34), but as ali said more fun to be had earlier rather than later, the zone they are given out in gives a good idea of a suitable level mostly.

a sneaky player might stay neutral and build up fame so as to take them all, before choosing to support a civ or cult :)

They are useful las the improve stats or give you new skills, but unfortnatly hardly any seem to be completed and there are only a handfull for harvesters/crafters and none for fighters/mages

Well, considering my old character has some skill in both harvesting and crafting, those might be worth pursuing. As for fight and magic, well, she could use those, too ;) She can't craft armor or weapons at the level at which she could use them... Not to mention that it might be a good idea for her to focus on one thing for a while...

Oh, and thanks for that tip on reinstalling the CDs; I was going off of a forum message that said the user had to download tons of patches. At the rate I'm downloading them, I might be in game by tomorrow sometime :D :D

Of course, I might not be long, as I haven't quite gotten the ability to pay for the account yet, as this is a trial account... but it shouldn't be too long after this, I hope :)

Thanks for all the advice, and God bless :D
