meh, my head still spinning......
./grin But have you tried to kill them with unarmed? Preferably before they introduced the VKs...it made me dump at that time what had later to be my queen profession: TKM (btw you cannot 'meditate' on ATys but you can very well kneel the same as in SWG if you disable racial animation in preferences).

I'll never forget those huge yellow eyes jumping up and down in front of me. As for weeny gingos, nah they not by far as bad as a genuine dragonet :)

Only if your character is female.

I can say the community is really friendly for a beginner. :)

I met a girl last night who gave me her 2H sword. And I cruise my way to end the tutorial. :)

But then I saw a guy using a 2H magic thingy, and he done it much more faster than me :(

Is there an unbalance between using melee weapon & magic? I feel like throwing away my sword :S

Or is it a norm to expertise in melee and range weapon, and totally forget about magic? If so, will it hinder my progress in later stage?

That seems odd...in my experience, offensive magic is quite weak at least until level 30ish. It does do the most damage at later levels, though.

But if you like using a particular weapon, by all means, use it. I'm 225 2h sword and I have no problem with it.

The norm for a fighter is to at least have some healing skills so that they can rez a fallen comrade. Other than that, I think melee and magic is rather balanced these days. Ranged is difficult (and expensive) but looks cool.

You will have more skill points than you have use for at a higher level. If you feel you bought the wrong stanza it will only slow you down until next time you level. No permanent harm can be done.

I would add melee is real good in pvp sometimes more useful than magic. But it is much slower to level. Now, depending on your specialty it can be a pain or just slow. If you go unarmed or daggers will be a pain. 2h is somewhat faster, at normal (but determined) levelling speed, for a SWG trained grinder :P but who still has some RL subscription left, I would say expect to master in 4 months. The nice part is in Ryzom you don't have to be master to be useful (but I've met very few SWG-ers who wanted to understand that)
