Welcome to Atys! *huggles*
^^^^ what the huggle master said
Only the other day I wandered into an area I had never seen before and I explore a lot. I still sit (usually in pr waiting for weather change) and marvel at the mob movements, their characteristics, the scenery, the little added effects.
Every day I login I have a wealth of choices on what I want to do and every day I promise myself I will start on the 48ft to-do list and every day I go off and do something completely different
Welcome to Atys, its a hell of a long journey

http://www.xfire.com/profile/scarazi
played both games, guess which one gets 3300+ hours

and which gets less than 150. i dont think theres boredom ingame, always something going on, sometimes fustration, but never boredom. If you get bored ingame easy, you are doing something wrong and ask someone for advice

Where do they keep their little coin purses?
Well, must´ve been real piggy banks then, eh? Did they have little slit on the back?

wonbyone wrote:Thanks so much for your replies. How odd, no flames or ugly comments. Obviously this isn't WoW. I'm gonna give this a try and see how it goes.
Thanks again.
Nice to see you. I'm new too and I love Ryzom!
Haha I'm not trying to Troll, but I have to defend WoW here a little. It's very important to separate the forums from the game. Obviously these aren't the WoW forums.
WoW has absolutely nothing to do with the posts on the forum. The game is fantastic if you like fantasy RPGs, period. That doesn't detract from Ryzom or anything, they're just different games. Someone mentioned the crafting centered focus of Ryzom and how it contrasts to the Mission and story focus of WoW and I agree with that 100%. Crafting in WoW is good inasmuch as it's complicated and forces you to explore the world, but it's ultimately limited by how many items the devs place in the loot tables.
Regards!

wonbyone wrote:So, how's the game? What can you compare it to in terms of other games on the market? I play WoW right now but am getting a little bored?
Hi Wonbyone,
I am also on the 7 day trial, and I also have an active WOW account.
Ryzom allows you to personalise your character in skills, so you can change from healer to crafter to fighter over time....just by concentrating on those particular skills.
WoW is a game of levelling, with your choices made at character creation. Ryzom is a game of 'growing' your character based on your interaction with the world.
Welcome to Ryzom Wonbyone

Umm, I'd guess that wonbyone left a month ago as he hasn't posted since 22nd April

Axeal just decided to stick up for WoW, is all.
