Now why would anyone surrender their OP to someone of the opposite faction?? That would make them a traitor to their cause :/
Sorry, but community aside, the game currently is about Rp'ing 2 (or 3 depending on who u speak to) sides of a conflict between homins...it would be nothing but folly to give an OP to the enemy...
Atys is no longer a planet of one big happy homin family...Just as with humanity, hominity now includes the ability to choose sides and fight other homins, I kind of prefer it this way tbh, adds a different element of uncertaintity to the game that was never present before...
What you want, it seems to me, is a return to the old days where homins faced the creatures of the wilds united...well, all I can say is, things change - nothing stays the same forever.

OudKnoei's point is "I don't see how it fits into the story or in character." Darylq's is similar. This point must be addressed. We can look to our leaders for guidance:
King Yrkanis says "A Matis must possess the more noble traits of Hominkind"
I submit that King Yrkanis would approve of Matis demonstrating their true noble characters by acts of kindness and generosity. If not, what exactly are the noble traits of the Matis?
Governor Wyler says "We Trykers live by the virtues of Freedom, Equality and Sharing! "
I submit that the Governor Wyler would approve of sharing even with those whose beliefs are different from one's own. If not, who do we believe are equal and worth sharing with?
Grand Sage Mabreka says "Our society rests on the attainment of spiritual accomplishment, wisdom and the respect of nature."
I submit that Grand Sage Mabreka would agree that spiritual accomplishment cannot be achieved without sacrifice and without humility. How do we attain spiritual accomplishment?
The Emperor Dexton says "Truth, Honor and Discipline are the values prized by every true born Fyros!"
I submit that Emperor Dexton would agree that to share is honorable. I submit that he would agree that discipline can be learned by freely giving up that which we covet. How do we earn honor among the citizens of Atys? Does not real respect and honor require real actions with attendant risks and consequences?
Aside from from what our leaders say, we are free to try to be better homins than we are. We are free to try to be what we want to be.

This might be going slightly off-topic with what im about to say...
How about guild fights over outposts be dueled for? If you win the duel you win the outpost.
If your character isn't mentally strong enough to bare such responsibility then maybe teams of 5 vs 5 (or whatever) at the matis arena.
Just a suggestion, yet i would like to see a guild leader with the balls to say "Yeah ok you declared on our OP but do you have the guts to rest all decision on one fight?"

An OP is not the personal possesion of the GL, so such a decision would have to be supported by the whole guild. You're basically saying, put your OP at risk without allowing any/all interested guild members having any ability to do anything about it except watch.

Knowing Mr. Booma i dont think thats what he meant.
i'm sure he didnt mean to have blind duels unknown to the guild, but as a general concept to make duels a part of said battle. maybe duels can be a start for 'who gets more team members in an ORGANIZED op battle?' - like flipping a coin, only with a little less randomness (tho im sure the tails side is bugged.. *eyes Rashan's coin evily*)
