Also, Kye, a warrior and a nuker both can travel around but you are safer using a nuker cause you can kill mobs in the distance and not getting adds.

Do you ever have travelled alone ?
i ve done it many times and using only spell ...Try to kill 3 or 4 aggros at the same time with casts and come back to try with circular attack you will really see the difference
You can also try to kill a mob in PR with Ele, i am sure you will need to use self-heal and/or mpa but i am not sure you have to with melee

I aslo got many fear killing some mobs with amount of hp or cast resists ...i think about torbak or kirostas.

In my opinion, melee have never been so usfull since devs boost armors.

You were moaning about lvling all the melee to be able to kill all kind of mobs ...where s the fun if you stop lvling once you get 1 skill to 250 ?

Also Rushin tell me how a 5% of special effect can be useful. Well it is useful 5% of the time, just that.

but back on track: there are no classes in ryzom, however every skill is useful in it's own right - you just need to tailor it to the situation a little.

You tell to me if i travel, it seems its you who doesnt travel or ignore as warrior are. First many mobs have physical resistances , and nukers just can choose the right spell, cause in the end they know how are mobs. Second a nuker is not probably that have adds cause they attack in the distance. Yes, if you get several adds a warrior has a small chance of surviving ( even with circular attack several mobs deal lot of dmg ) if mobs are of the right type and nuker probably none but that is why nukers can attack in range and in that way they can clear areas to go on moving in that area.

The main problem is PR i think where you need to clear areas to dig more safely and maybe those mobs have resistances or i get several adds tauting.

Anyway traveling is not my biggest complain at all. Its just that we have to take more risks and its slower.

And yes, warriors have never been so useful cause before they were 0 useful.

5% critical + head shot is = stun but for that you need to hit head, something unlikely and noone uses that skill. It is even useless for warriors, i remember you that its just a +5% to that chance.

5% of vamp + circ attack = many hp back - for this you need several targets, and then in what situations you have that ? when you make group xp, but for 250 lvl warrior its not very useful cause in OP fights you need to be near the ones that have already attacked you and besides you dont last much. For boss hunts ppl dont even want you to tank. It is useful, but just a bit, nothing compared to a 16% to dmg and hit rate of amps and 20% of instant dmg

yes the melee warriors have always had a rough time when in comparison to elemental mages. were you around when Heavy armour only gave 125hp per piece of armour?- basically th same as LA! those were tough times!

Tanking that big 270 kitin boss in PR which hits for about 6k (i forget his name now) was possible but he did have the power to knock me down in one hit. It was kinda annoying but it was something that we accepted- and why not? For an uber boss in an uber zone why shouldn't we have 3-4 tanks on it that will all be hit down in 1 go? After all a boss in PR (the uber zones-not forgetting) should be imo getting on for being as hard as aen/lixie.

I learned to play a melee with 4k hp and now i have 50% more, dueling an ele will always result in me winning. In big pvp events such as outposts i agree, the warrior is still useless- we usually get rezzed with about 100hp on the clock and then we are back on the floor and back to square 1.

As for homins that have reached 200 or higher in ranged fighting, i know for certain of 3 homins, Wismerhill (love ya man) was the first homin on our server to reach master ranged and he was a rifleman, and there is Elizabeth who I am sure has been running around with the Pistoleer title (and maybe the master one too). Stik has also been mentioned in this thread for having the 200+ ranged title.

well you play differently to me then. I use head shots all the time in PvP and i've found in the gladiator events most others do as well. it works for me and 5% chance with a maxed speed 1h sword comes around a lot. Also have u tried circular attack with many opponents, that 5% would equate to almost every swing u get hp back - so again i fail to see how that is useless.

When we go boss hunting we always have a tank, sometimes 2 or 3. It's all part of the plan, works out well and is lots of fun for all involved. But then we play to enjoy ourselves not to worry whether there is a better way of doing things.

I'm not sure what sort of answers you were looking for in this post tbh. maybe for everyone to agree that melee is useless?

And doustin about your Speed calculation. Yes Launcher speed is max at 12 But you forgot the speed brick which will double it. So its more like 24 vs 38

The sole most irritating thing about Launcher are that you need several days to prepare for a fight (Getting enough mats, Bring your packer to the site of battle, And keep a ammo tool handy to make new ammo all the time)

I was tanking bosses and purples one especially before ha got their boost and that was working fine.
I was tanking on Great kinchers too and that was working fine too cause like alibooma i lern to tank with 4k hp.
You re right elementalists were always superior in Duel but they could lose some duel tho.
Now with the armor change, they cant even win one.
