Well, I'm not saying one shouldn't have their pvp-enabled. But people that get pissed about getting nuked while diggin' when THEY enable it on themselves is just kind of dumb, especially if they get mad about it. The way I see it, get back at the person, but don't hold the grudge on that...since you (general terms) pretty much let it happen by enabling pvp. On a side note, how can someone actually hate someone else in a game? Hate is just an intense emotion to feel in-game. Once someone does "hate" someone, they need to take a break.

While part of me agrees with your option, part of me says: when nuked by a pvper, you don't get DP. Ya can always rez and then nuke the person too (get your revenge and they end up getting no DP which I think is fair. lol).

I never said I was "pissed" or "hated" anyone. In fact, I have no problems with being ganked like that. We both had tags on and that's the game. But, I shouldn't be required to rez that person. Its my choice to make, just like he decided to nuke me; I decided not to rez him. Its that simple.

The way you sign your messages contradicts with what your saying. I've helped other karavan in GoC plenty of times. I've been playing this game for awhile. Don't make me look like the bad guy here.

You didn't rez the rest of the team, knowing they would rez somebody who was totally ready to attack you in focus gear ... fair enough, I'd say. There are no right and wrong answers here (except for spamming any channels with nonsense about how they went down).

I was in a comparable situation once, as a character from my DNR list enters a team I was hunting with. ( That was way before the PvP flag was 'invented' ).

That person once pulled a kincher on me, and after that one didn't killed me, he finished me with some double fire spells.

So as that person entered the team I said that I quit the hunt, because I wont hunt with that person in one team, and the team continued with the boss hunt.

After this I rezzed the team 3 times, without healing that specific person. That definetly is the task of the team, hes is hunting with.

Well it bothers you enough that you refused to help 3 people (2 of whom weren't hunting with the person that ganked ya). You didn't ask, you just assumed everyone was hunting with him.

Yes, you are right. It was your choice to not rez him and the other two that had nothing to do with it. In fact, you just said "you should have sent me a tell that you're kami" to the other two after they had spawned which was nonsense. Not sure which comments you are talking about that were spoken in region. Clarify? Most people in the region thought as I did that it was ridiculous to hold the other two accountable. As for the KOS list, that's the decision of the other person if they decide to play that way. You are in pvp-mode thus givin' them the ability to do that.

Also, not sure what you mean by the way I "sign" my messages. If you're refering to my signature, that's how I RP my character. But ask anyone I've dug with in the desert..I have never hesistated to help or rez those on the opposing faction (many of whom nuked me in OP battles and in ep2). I'm sure there are many in people on both sides that do the same. And, make you look like the bad guy? I didn't make this thread. You did it. This could have easily been kept in-game and not become another piece of drama on the forums.

Just a thought on PvP, I come from Lineage 2 and maybe I bring a certain amount of baggage from there (I know I brought some from here to Lineage, I was a bit of a softie ).

The PvP in SoR is.... annoying,.... everybody pussyfoots around it. If you are at war with another guild and you know that you are on their KoS list, then as far as I am concerned, it's kill or be killed.

I am aware of the situation that occured last night, Brithelms solution to me would be the most fair, I would hate to leave someone un-rezzed, but I would not let the person that killed me get away with it. If they wont assume the responsibility for their actions and make their team pay for their indiscretion, then the team should not hold it against Heavnor for fighting back.

In SoR, PvP death is only an inconvenience, In Lineage its loss of XP (in such a grind-heavy game that is very tough) and possibility of dropping equipment (very expensive too, a for example Bow of Peril could set you back 30 mill).

So as its only an inconvenience, take your licks on the chin like a man/woman and take responsibility for your actions. If you wind up getting killed like what happened last night, put the rez onus on the aggressor in your team, not on the person that would like to rez you, but an enemy of theirs is in your group.

Personally I am not sure the Ryzom community has the right mindset for PvP, you are all too bloody nice . I was involved in the OP stuff on saturday night and I was appalled by the Trash Talking in Region Chat and the personal attacks that took place.

Its a game, it has PvP now (whatever your take on the way it has been implemented), deal with it by :

1. Embracing it totally.
2. Keep yourself to yourself and dont PvP
3. Leave.

Stark choices I know, but believe me when I say that, it is going to get alot more polarised here, I hope you realise that, because although every MMORPG seems to want to use PvP as a "selling" point, it does not necessarily mean that it will attract the nicest people......

unless the reason why i'm on his kos list is entirely my fault, i'd do the following:

res only the person who nuked me and then stick close by.

this way he'd have to decide between healing the team and killing me, showing where his honour lies.

This has nothing to do, with beeing mad at someone that act in a way that conform with the rules. But only the fact that I activate my PvP flag or I enter a PvP zone, doesn't mean: "Kill me, and you are my friend"

I just allow my vis-à-vis to behave, like the person he wants to be seen as. So I feel free to base my respect or disrespect against this person on its former action. So someone who kills me, isn't a friend of mine, even if decided to allow him to kill me.

In my opinion, PvP is not only a gameplay challenge, it is a roleplaying challenge, too. And the latter one is, what makes me 'hate' characters or makes me respect them.

I think I know what you mean, but don't you think that was the attempt to let the OP conflict look like a Karavan / Kami conflict?
Regardless of the fact that there were several Karavan guilds defending the outpost, and it was a Matis Karavan guild attacking a Neutral Fyros based guild?

This is where I beg to differ. When one activates their pvp flag or enters a pvp zone, they understand the consequences of what may happen. Simple as that. If one does NOT want to be bothered while diggin' or doing any non-pvp activity, then don't enable the pvp flag. Especially if one is going to take it personal and/or hold a grudge.

I'm not arguing whether it's "right", "wrong", "dishonorable", etc. The fact is when ya enable your pvp flag or enter the pvp zone, you ARE givin' them the ability to kill you.

Now if you want to enable your pvp to see how your enemy will do in different situation (hunting, diggin' etc), that's your choice. But when people begin to hold grudges and whatnot in a situation where you can easily get yourself out of (aka turn off the pvp flag...PR zones are more tricky and that's a different argument, honestly), then it gets ridiculous.
