Go home troll.
Oh :( Be nice ayne31 :)

The lag you've experienced is very unusual Unregistered #1 :) It's a temporary problem that's being worked on as we speak.

Best of luck,

You're right that this forum setup is a very bad idea from Nevrax, unprofessional. On your original post:

1. Lag is temporary, as explained on the forums, and has nothing to do with your distance from the server. It exists since Friday, obviously Nevrax broke something and I'm sure it gets fixed again.

2. Yes, Ryzom does not take you by your hand, the game has quite a learning curve and it seems you miss the patience necessary to feel comfortable with the system. Sorry about that.

3. Yep, no jumping in game. Personally I like that because one doesn't see hyper-active teenagers jumping all over the place but your mileage may vary.

4. I cannot understand your point. Most of the people playing Ryzom would say that world design, graphic, animation, atmosphere is where this game really shines. I could not undestand what it is that you're complaining about in this respect.

Sorry to hear that these four points cause you to cancel the game, but it's your decision of course.

Larsa, you seem to know the game pretty well, is there a storyline or whatever, I went to Pyr, it's the same ol same ol as the intro level, does it improve? It's called the Saga of ryzom, Saga implies to me there is a storyline, I would like to know when/if it kicks in.
Thanks,

It's amazing how you could have played all those games, and come to the boards thinking they'd refund your money...When has there every been returns on software that isn't physically defective in some way?
virtually never...although im pretty sure electronics boutique use to offer a return policy on games you werent satisfied with, but in this instance, there is no chance at all.

Thanks,
There is a storyline but don't expect to find the storyline at an NPC conveniently placed behind the next corner. Read this (pdf, http://www.ryzom.com/data/updates/g005.pdf ) to learn about the history of the homins and where we are now and you should get an idea about how the story will continue. If you ask me the story will include politics, race antagonism, the future of the homins, power struggle between Karavan and Kamis - these sort of things, I won't expect the usual "save the virgin from the dragon" type of quest in Ryzom.

Note that many players currently don't really comprehend the importance of fame in the game - but your fame with factions in the game will be important to you: you (or your guild) won't be asked by the Karavan to do something for them if you're known as a Kami supporter and vice versa. Kami and Karavan are the supreme factors on Atys, we homins are little more than peasants. Note also that some guilds are already busy organising themselves fame-wise through carefully chosing what missions to run.

In a matter of speaking fame is more important for you than the level you have. Make up your mind about what character you play: will you be a Kami supporter? Karavan? What's your take about Jena? What about the minor tribes you find when you explore the mainland? Do you want friendly relations with them? Don't you care? Hmm, they might help you with your guild outpost sometime in the future.

That's the type of storyline to expect I'd say - and half of that happens rather in your head than on the screen in front of you. ;)

I really don't understand your point on graphic. The graphic in ryzom is the best i have ever seen in a mmorpg, atleast on the right graphic card. I get better graphic in AC2 than ryzom when i use my Gefoce 2 or Radeon 9600 card, so i think they have not spent enough time optimizing the graphic for older cards, but with a radeon 9800 pro the graphic is wonderful!
