Currently it's already possible to make look of your own... just mix and match races and colors, and you can get some special results as well. To illustrate, this is my current armor:
Rocci's new armor
Just spend some time with the BM dressing room (spriteh posted the link) and you can make all sorts of looks. I have this one for hunting, and the exact same one in white for harvesting. Use your imagination.
Theres (12*8)^5 options for light armor alone. That's 8153726976 combinations... same for MA... for HA it's even more... 782757789696... I doubt those will all be used one day... even if you leave out the basic/fine colors you still get amazingly high numbers.
EDIT: Forgot to add in caster pants... so basically for LA there's even more options...

I guess it all depends on the way you look at it. The way i see it is that each race has 3 armor types with thier own graphics regaurdless of colors.(im not counting caster cause its the same as light with a skirt for ma-duk's sake!) (3x3=9) so in essence all yourealy have is 9 armor plans with different colors for quality and materials. A color is not very much of a varation IMHO. Saying that you have so many hundered is realy tyring to sugar coat the facts. Just because you have diferent color shirts in in your closet dosent mean that they look good, because it happens to be that your wearing the same 9 shirts over and over again with a few different colors. Everyone will notice you shop at the same store all the time and buy the same shirt in different colors all the time, wouldnt they? Yes they would. Same thing goes for weapons all the weaposn look the same with the exception that some may sparkle and some may not.
I did not see the 96 new plans on ths ATS as i havent been there and my original post was not a complaint. I was merely saying that i thought it would make the game better to have more visulal diversity in items.

True. But some combinations do work. People just need to find what suits them. All I wanted to say was that we arent limited to a dozen styles and that's it. You can go a long way even if all you do is use pieces from different races in one color and quality (my depicted set is all MQ Black LA for example).
