Yes Tryton is against both the Kami and the Karavan, and he said that allowing either of them to gain the upper hand would be dangerous. However statements such as:

"The fight for our freedom will continue. Therefore keep spreading my word, the homins can live much better without either Kami or Karavan interference, and that homins themselves should control Homin destiny and the future of Atys."

do not seem to me to fit the D&D concept of neutral. They certainly don't fit the standard definition of neutral in this context:

"neutral: impartial. belonging to an impartial state or group. unbiased."

I am not against Tryton, if anything I am very much pro, however I do think that a more realistic description of things would be four factions. Kami, Karavan, Tryton (or perhaps more accurately Guild of Elias), and neutral (as in unaligned).

It´s interesting to see how people just ignore someone who says they are wrong and supports it with good arguments... *shakes his head and wanders from this pointless thread*

What happens when they activate all the outposts?

(oh and outpost sites are not very "agrro free" these days... I know quite a few that have named wander *through* them, or have a big spawn of aggro right next to them, so the aggro just stand inside the OP)

I don't see how you can call something a game if you are given all privileges.
Teleportation is a privilege, not a right.

"Neutral" CAN'T just be a faction, cause then they wouldn't be NEUTRAL anymore, they would just be a faction with the name "Neutral" (the way tryton does stuff, isn't neutral either.. he does exactly the same as kami and karavan, only he almost doesn't give anything to the homins).
This proposal is for Neutral Pacificists, those opposed to war/PvP. To destroy a spire you will have to turn PvP on and fight guards and presumably other players. I'm not talking about another faction, just offering an opportunity for collective action (content) for players with a specific stance as individuals.

Karavan: "Hey, I have a great idea, let's make some temples for when Jena comes!"
Ma-Duk: "Oh my GOD! I want temples too!"
Jena: "Whahaha! I'll have more temples than you! Tell all the homin to kill the Kami!"
Ma-Duk: "Hey, that's not fair! Kami envoy, tell everyone to kill all Karavan!"
Tryton: "Hey hey hey! What about me? Send some of my friends and tell them to ask everyone to join both Kami and Karavan, and let everyone kill each other!"
Jena: "Who's that again?"
Ma-Duk: "It's that annoying kid! RUN!"
Tryton: "I'm soooo evil! PWND!"

acridiel wrote:Huhm.... Sorry to disagree on that, a truly neutral force does not stand by and watch as others kill themselve.
Depends on which definition of the term neutral you mean. Even then depending on the circumstances they may do precisely that which ever definition.
acridiel wrote:It favores no one, it uses its influence, in this Game it´s "Manpower", to support the Equilbrium, the "neutral" state of things.
So it´s just that what Tryton does.
My stress.

In the specific case of the temple builds yes. However one of the few stated objectives he has is the overthrow of both the Karavan and the Kami to the advantage of the Homins. That does not sound very much like favouring no-one.
acridiel wrote:Else, what sense would it make to even have him Ingame?
If he was just someone who said: "Watch them kill each other, let "the Gods" sort em out and lean back while they´re at it." And you were one of his "folowers" what would you do?
I personally would like to know how he thinks you can get from stalemate between Karavan and Kami to his aim of truely free homins. I do not see the point in fighting other homins just to retain the status quo.

gwythion wrote:I dont actually understand why this is necessary at all. The information on Global Faction PvP does not state that neutrals will have no access to tps.

From the Global Faction notes:

"It is impossible to use TP tickets when their destination is an area owned by an opposing faction. It is possible to use TP tickets in neutral areas, areas controlled by one’s faction, or in capitals."

The opposing factions are Karavan and Kami. Neutrals oppose no one therefore unless this is a total misuse of the English language neutrals will have access to all tps that work at all no matter who claims ownership of the area.
FvF will not only be Kami vs. Karavan but also civilization vs. civilization. If the Matis try and enslave the Tryker again, then neither Zorai nor Fyros could tp into forest or lakelands zones with spires. And even with Kami vs. Karavan a player could be nominally Kami aligned but anti-PvP and thus would be denied access to many zones.

Note: This isn't D&D, it's B5. One season it's Narn vs. Centari and the next it's the Vorlons vs. Shadows. Maybe by chapter 4 we can get to regime change.
