Noin.
Ideally for this test they should copy our characters over anew... they do testing differently depending on what needs to be done.
A seperate install is needed for sure, depending on whether or not they copy folks over you may need to recopy your maps/keys files again
after character creation. Otherwise it is fairly easy...
The key is that everyone that goes onto ATS knows what they need tested and focus on that while providing maximum feedback. Those that jump on to play with outposts and don't give feedback on every little thing cannot gripe much when/if bugs are not found/fixed
Hardest thing until they open it to all will be arranging groups/teams to properly test the functions. Hard to have an outpost war if nobody arrives

Agreed, some list of things to be tested/played with... maybe as a MOTD or some other way would be nice.
I agree in focused testing... if folks know what that is...

Noin.
Noin,
Your currrent Live toons will not transfer over. On the new server your character list will be blank, and you need to create new ones.
Each new toon will start at lvl 150 in all skills, and you have 28000 skill points to spend at each trainer... as well as 30 million dapper in your inventory.
As far as transfering keys and maps over thats simple.
In your ryzom folder on your HD, there is a "Save" folder. Inside that are files for each of your toons.
when you download the ATS configure tool, you will duplicate your entire ryzom folder... one that is specific for ATS. Once done, load ATS and create a toon. Then, you can log out. Go to the above "save" folder, in the duplicated Ryzom folder, and copy your current Noin keys and interface... then rename the copied one to the name of the toon you created on ATS. that way you will have all the maps and keys the same as with your live toon.
Heh... now, did any of that make sense?
