Well, it's good to see at least we're getting some clarification on the problems.

In the spirit of this, I'd appreciate if Xavier could explain why grimjim's ban was publicly announced on the forums. I thought this was expressly against Nevrax's policy about divulging information about disciplinary actions they take.

NOTE: this does not apply to those who have communicated information about their own suspensions to the community. It's their choice to waive their privacy.

Using the "A more cynical person than I might say..." trick is just a way to saying something without taking the responsability of what is said. And what is said is "GrimJim was only banned at his first post because certain people at Nevrax had had enough of having their mistakes and inconsistencies pointed out by him.". That's ranting and personal attack.

No, it sounds to me like the author is just saying that he's not of that opinion, however were he a more cynical person he might believe that. In other words he isn't far from believing that that might be the case, but still has some faith left in the forum moderation.

Not a "trick", as you have named it, but simply a much less harsh statement than it would have been, had it been said that that was his opinion. I wonder now if Lathaniel is a more cynical person with regard to Nevrax then he was before?

I didn't want to look like I was doing it in the backstage, especially since it was precisely on the topic discussing the issue. But you're also right, this should stay private, and I won't announce such things on the boards anymore.

I just posted to announce my upcoming ban from the forum. It hasn't happened yet but it will.

Xavier, Jyudas posted that Nevrax were responsible for the deterioration of the forum. He was banned for being correct. I have had posts closed and/or removed for causing Nevrax/Jolt embarrasment not for flaming or writing lies.

I think you are trying to prevent criticism in a very negative and non constructive way. I will go further and say that your action and particularly your announcement of your action was, in itself, discourteous. Who will ban you for your actions?

I also think it is discourteous to have your ingame CSR lackeys criticise other gamers posts on your behalf. It is becoming more and more obvious that certain gamers are answering questions for you and in doing so showing us who they are.

CSRs do an excellent job ingame but inforum that sort of action is despicable.

Oh! BTW, I have cancelled my sub partly because of the lack of progress ingame but your attempts to silence the dissenters was the last straw. Nice one Xavier.

As stated here Lathan has a total of 61 posts on the forum.

Wouldn't consider them trolling either, but then, hey, maybe that's why I'm not a moderator.

And going back to Jyud's banning for trolling (let's not forget what started this all), I thought a troll was supposed to be someone dedicated to making everyone's life a misery on a forum? Sorry, but those cartoons? They made me laugh, as did many of the rp threads he did, and many on the general board. Sure, I didn't agree with a lot (and I mean a lot) of what he posted, but I was always taught that everyone's entitled to a different opinion and a means to express it, regardless of how polar to your own it is.
