Still won't have the feature what have been promised.

Played plenty of gm in rollplaying games as neverwinter nights even building multi pc level maps (meaning opening a door and go in and you are on a other server) fun at the start but then you been godlike and its no fun going back to normal allmost as cheating in a game you ramble through it and get very easy boring.

Who is complaining about fvf in this thread, I was just trying to point our someposistive things about the game :)

This thread is about promises of the future of this game that have never been met!

Sorry complete self interest I know but just wanted to take the opportunity to add my agreement with the comment on a re-work to ranged.

In the context of the recent FvF I have used ranged to some effect but normally I have to close to a distance where I get multiple people throwing 1500 point nukes on my head and am in easy charge distance of those swinging things at me trying to take said head clean off. All this to do 459 points of damage if I am lucky with my trusty rifle..

I have tried Launcher for abit off fun but I cant hit much and its really hard to work on the skill because of ammo weight. Its real hard 9 shots then run out of the battle take off armour and craft. I am luckier than most maybe that I have Babs with me acting as Packmule when I am flirting with Launchers but for a solo player unless they could persuade a freind to do this Luanchers are not an option.

Yes I know I can shoot on the move which does give me an advantage in certain situations. I am not asking for an Uber damage boost either, but maybe a little more damage, a little more Range in Rangefight, a little less weight/bulk to launcher ammo and maybe one or two interesting bricks. (dum dum bullets/less range double damage, Sniping twice range 1/2 damage no movement)

I get the impression people like too see loonies like me running round with a gun it adds another element but please could it be looked at to bring it a little more into the mainstream (hehe not to far I like being different)

A few answers about communication (and about where we publish things):
morzyr wrote:Some times on the main page.
Yup, that's the main place where we publish information.
Some times in events in forums.
Hum, you shouldn't find gameplay or non-RP information here - only hints about events and roleplay discussions.
some times in the feed back pages
And worst of all. in the middle of users posts. (God i hate what one.)
You can also find those two in the Forum watch articles - we want to be able to answer directly on the boards, otherwise it would be harder to interact; but you can still get the same info in the news.
Annocement forum is still on the forum where Xaviar have told us his not useing as "all" info goes on the main page ,but still hi some times uses what one.
Uh, I only used that one to create the referendum polls - not to actually publish information.
They did almost a good job in the spring with planned updates load of info and long time changes now at summer.
I'm always ready to listen and change the way we are doing things; can you point out specific articles and differences here? If we did something better in the past, it can be worth looking at the things which changed!

Feel free to answer here or directly by email (xavier@nevrax.com).

Xavier - why does no one answer our queries about range weps and bulk restrictions? Bulk changes are easy and would let a few more gameplayers take part in the game. We can wait on a rejig of range in general but give us the immediate fix now please.

Alyssah i have already had a slap from Xavier once for asking why they hadnt done a rework, been told that it hasnt been promised anywhere seems its on the back, back, back burner somwhere maybe.

Both of which have been mentioned and discussed many times before and are well overdue really not happy at all that ranged has been shoved under the bed to be forgotten for an undefined period of time yet again.

Unless I'm making a mistake, we have never said we were working on it - only that we were willing to do it in the future. Our current priorities are still the Episode 2 & the Outposts.

I'm happy to wait on a rework but when there is an immediate, compromise solution available, I cannot understand the reluctance. Range could be so much fun. Range would attract many gamers to a new style of play and a whole new strategy concept.

Think of a few machine gunners (autolaunchers) spraying the onrushing melees and/or 1 or 2 grenade (launchers) bombing nukers and forcing them to keep their distance. As I said, a whole new strategy package.

Wake up Nevrax.

As said in the past (I think it was in a Q&A - not 100% sure though), increasing the weight limit or decreasing the weight of ammo seems like an easy solution, but it would quickly make range fighting too powerful, as you don't have the casting time and range limitations of offensive magic. If we do it and end up with an overpowered range fighting, it would do little for the overall balance of the game.

We're still willing to rebalance range fighting in the future - but when we'll do it, we want to do it well.

So instead of overpowered rangers we now have overpowered nukers and no use for melee? Sorry but that just doesn't cut it lower bulk on launcher and auto launcher ammo might force people to use some real strategy in PvP instead of the nukefest it currently is...

I corrected him at thge time. We have to use stamina to get decent usage of our bricks and that is a severe limiting factor. Sorry Xavier, wrong again.

And the firing time of a launcher is 9 or 10 times per minute. Is that not more than equivalent to casting time????
