My account is still active but I am taking a rest from the game, got tired of the PvP v's PvE debates. Been waiting to see what impact the new patch will have. But from what I've been reading on these forums that rest is likely to be a bit longer yet.

Like I said, R2 for me, make or break, but the people who'd likely appreciate it the most are the ones already going.
I'm a brand new player so I do not really know the 'history' of these things you speak about ...

The prospect of R2 made me subscribe to this game, and I can tell you this.

I'm not leaving :) and yes I'm not a PVPer :)

I still wonder why they put such à thing, it isn't outpost, it isn't R2 (i hope so)

It is just à thing you see in conventionnal games, wow for example, go in a part of the map, fight and if you are good you will have you name and rewards

Tha mains spots in atys with life have disappeared, those who aren't interesting in this gamepley have no raison ti stay or to build on again their Atys life

I wonder why they put such a thing, maybe introducing outpost but why haven't they pub temple near outpost.

I think players leaving think it is finally the strange choice of nevrax, making a game like wow and others, so they leave, it is really a pity

(and sorry for my poor english, i 'm french ;) )

I have been consdiering leaving for a little while now even before the new lands were opened up and the PvP thing i never did before so it was kinda interesting and fun but after 2 days of endless battling its kinda turning into a repetitive grind fest, like digging but instead of watching extraction bars, you watch your bars and the enemies bars. I still think its fun just losing its appeal, kinda wish there was some more alternatives.

One alternative couldve been special bosses that require mass amounts of players to kill and have special mats needed for the temples and that give lots of honor points. Different bosses for different faction mats and kami faction could try to kill these bosses first so the karavan fall behind on these special faction boss mats but in doing so risk letting the karavan go to work on there bosses, so you have to consider lots of stuff. also gives something for the non PvPers to do.

but oh well, cant have everything :)

Please do so.....

This post wasnt a complaint, it wasnt about the good or bad of PvP it was because the players leaving I spoke about are those within the game who have contacted me in some way to say goodbye. They were not statistics gleaned from the threads here and prompted the questions I put forward, simply because if more are leaving than joining then there is no future, if it is the reverse then there is some sort of future. As a player I am interested in that......

Evolutioneers lost the last two days:
- Blondy. Wont be coming back.
- Groom. Wont be coming back.
- Ishamael.
- Holina. Sub runs out in 3 weeks, will pop in to see if it got better.

Evolutioneers to loose in the coming month if not something real good, real fast.
- Machieltje.
- Frydeswinde.
:( :( :(

I hope not, the event seemed fun for the first day or two...but it seems now people are reflecting a little... and many of my friends are leaving :(

Why just not wait and see ... maybe just maybe you could get the surprise of your life :)

I tried to explain why the 'select' group may be complaining and leaving, unfortunately its a long post as it took a while to explain.
http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18885

The 'select' group are mostly those who have played since release and saw Ryzom through 2005; they are the heart of its community. When none of them are left I feel that Ryzom will be just another 'game'.

As another 'game' Ryzom does not compare well with others in its genre. Its the community and helpfulness of people that made it different.

Seems like I saw this exact thread after Patch 1.... I'll go looking later when I have the time.

First i d like to say that even 50 canceled subs are not much in terms of money. It needs about approx. 200 subs to pay one salary at Nevrax. A good programmer might need twice as much.

I am pretty sure there is a paper out there where someone described after what time the first veterans start to make problems. And i am pretty sure this paper also describes strategies on how to get rid of problems if you need to increase your new playerbase. If so, then ist about takeing the paper (which represents other peoples dreams) or your own dream.

Hell guys, you dont have a glue how happy i am to grow towards my 50s. I have all that bullsh*t behind me :)
