Now, you know I'm no warmonger, but I have to say that Jyudas is a curious mercenary. He should just say that he is a Fyrosian peacenik and have done with it. My grandfather was a TRUE mercenary ... Jena bless his soul, he died in a barfight and got no rez ... he woulda died for an opportunity like this war. Kamis and Karavans fighting one another and rezzing everyone up to fight again, paying the best wages and with better toys as spoil than homins have ever seen before. Maybe there will be no harm in it, if the Karavan and Kamis fight to a draw, rezzed everyone back, it might all be a wash, with nothing changed but loads of rich mercenaries afterwards ...
***Riveit's conversation was then interrupted by a long bout of hiccuping***
***Radsul leans back at his table, smiles and shakes his head.
People just don't think things through. Imagining that since mercenaries fight they must therefore like war! There's no profit in war for mercenaries when leaders can drag any piece of meat out of the bar and throw him onto the front line in the name of patriotism. In fact, wartime is the worst time possible for a mercenary. All those patriotic meat-shields look down on you for trying to earn a dapper and you get stuck with all the **** work. I'll take a time of instability and unrest over out-and-out war anyday!
He downs the last drop of his ale and leans back in his chair, closing his eyes and wondering when the next time he'll be able to enjoy a quiet beer in Fairhaven will be.***

LOL wake up to reality before its too late...
The Black Circle
This tribe is composed of scientists and magicians of every race fascinated by the goo. Urged by some morbid fascination, they spend their time studying the vile substance and its effects on the flora, fauna and homins. They endeavour to link the goo to magic in the hope of acquiring more and more power. They have thus made groundbreaking discoveries which they jealously keep secret, only giving snippets of knowledge to their disciples and allies, such as the tribe of the Darkening Sap. The tribe also excerces pressure on governments for goo study to be accepted so they can lawfully use the goo all over the planet without restraint.
http://www.ryzom.com/?page=lore_atys_tribes_witherings
and the Black Circle arent the only Tribe with such practices , theres also the Masters of the Goo both Tribes have an active Goo spout within their camp and are Karavan aligned as is the Goo Heads - no spout but their camp is practicaly in the Goo so they probably dont require one
Hmmm and maybe some history too....
2484
Region of Cities of Intuition explored, cleaned of goo and made relatively safe. Hoi-Cho refuses adherence to Karavan teachings.
Kamis intervene whenever Karavan tries to punish Zorais for fighting goo instead of gathering raw materials for them.
2504
Disorder follows death of Hoi-Cho who leaves no heir. End of Cho dynasty.
Old sage, Fung-Tun becomes leader of the Zorais in spite of growing popularity of the young Mabreka Cheng-Ho who challenges fervently rejects Kami supremacy as the instrument of Jena . Fung-Tun reinstates Jena as Kami Superior and banishes Mabreka who finds refuge in Pyr.
Hamazans of the Dead Seed tribe first implemented in Witherings to combat goo worshippers.
Slavery accepted on continent of Witherings to combat the goo.

Note :- Hamazans are a Kami Tribe and also that Slavery was accepted under the rule of the usurper Fung-Tun who followed Jena not the Kami , but he got his come upance in the end being corrupted by the Goo (no doubt he too had been "experimenting" with the vile stuff) and going insane before being deposed
Still need more proof of the Karavans lies ?

Well said Petej.
One should never try to distort facts about the goo while there are Zorais present.

There are a few indications that the Karavan also oppose the goo but they don't see cleaning it up as a priority.
Karavan is composed of mysterious anthropoid beings in black suits ...
Goals :
- Maintain and develop the worship of Jena in preparation for her return
- Protect and conserve the planet against the Goo.

About Fung-Tun, he clearly opposed the goo while worshipping Jena. He was combatting the goo by several means:

P.S. The Hamazans are a bit of a puzzle. They are a Matis tribe and have maintained 100 fame with the Matis even while pledging allegiance to the Kami.

((...a whole bunch of Kami lies...poor fellow...))
So, there are groups of homin that are being villified by the Kami for trying to learn the exact nature of the goo.
Even experimenting with the stuff to learn how to best destroy it is strictly forbiden by the would-be Kami thought-masters.
What is it that Ma-Duk does not want us to know about the scourge he unleashed on us?
How can it be that Kami loyalist interpret settling near the goo to mean that one group is trying to fight it (the Zoria) but other groups have a nefarious purpose (everyone else, apparantly)?
As far as Fung-Tun goes...his religious belifes were a bit confused. His claims that the Kami served Jena are obviously not currently held by the Kami themselves. One has to wonder what lies the Kami told him, what the Kami thought they could gain from a "we serve Jena" deception, and why would the Kami urge Fung-Tun to reinstate slavery?
Are we all to be slaves under a Kami-dominated Atys?
Or are we going to be like cattle, beasts of burden until Ma-Duk sees fit to devour us?

I have to support the Karavan position about the Goo. They wish to protect us and conserve the planet against the Goo, but clearly more research into the Goo is needed. The Kami Goo-removing projects, despite having spent decades of their best efforts, have proven ineffective. Let the Black Circle and the Masters investigate the Goo, if they find better ways of destroying or consuming the Goo, then more power to them!

Both is right. Karavan and Kami are against the Goo. While the technical advanced Karavan have an analytic approach, the Kami as force of nature have a pragmatic approach and just want to get rid of it.
Both factions, based on their nature, do their very best. Nothing to fight about.
Now what might be a problem. The machines of the Karavan emit magnetic fields and those perturb plant life on Atys. In my opinion this is the reason why the Kami dont let the Karavan build bases on the planet.
But now Jena wants to come, probably to build bases. Probably with best intentions... This is possibly the reason why discussion and conflict rises. Both factions call homins to support their faction.
We homins stand in the middle, so why not be the middle and try to mediate between both forces ? Karavan want to intervene more and Kami probably wouldnt care if there wherent those machines. Still hope to avoid war...

LOL
I have to admit that i thought for a long time that the magnetic fields are the source of Goo. Maybe they changed lore or i just didnt read carefully enough
Which shows that conflict and war is often based on misinformation and stupidity.
Edit: The magnetic fields could be the cause of the Goo, but this is not proven. The funny thing is that only the Karavans could prove it. This is going to be complicated...but interesting
