Me too, you always get some interesting ideas and discussions going on. Yours is an interesting idea regarding the Dragon.
Maybe the Fyros were looking for the ship when they found the Kitin and unleashed the Great Swarming?

"Homins lived on an impoverished planet until the Great Dragon, the prince of darkness, came and seduced them with visions of crystal waters and a land of plenty. After leading them to Atys, the Dragon endeavored to extinguish the sunlight there and in the cold and dark reduce the homins to slavery.
Jena, Goddess of the sun, creator of Atys, got wind of the Dragon's treachery and filled his body with eternal fire to prevent him breathing coldness and extinguishing the living light. The Goddess then conjured the light anew so provoking the Green Rising so that the homins could live again in harmony in a bountiful world."
Hmmmm makes you wonder....

When the Dragon (or it's crew if it was a ship) 'seduced' the homins, they could have been offering to take them to another, better, planet
"filled his body with eternal fire" could translate to blasted the ship out of the sky with her laser cannons.
You have to remember that this is a legend and also has Karavan spin on it. The 'seduction' could have been a rescue attempt, freeing homins from Karavan slavery.

Maybe the kitins were pretty annoyed already when they were down there, you know, minding their own business and then all of a sudden BOOOOM a spaceship crashes into their lair.
Now everyone is like "Hey you okee?" "Aunt Kirosterina was just standing there and then she was hit by this big black heavy thing!!!" "Anyone seen my baby? His name is Incensed Kincher. Have you seen my little girl?"...
Anyway, things were pretty bad for the kitin already and then there is this monkeyman snooping around their backyard, digging holes?!?!? So they go outside to ask some questions...
KNN wrote:Tonight on KNN, the story of a Kipesta father of 6 who was brutally slaughtered by 4 monkeys.
Tonight we will tell you all about Mr. Kipesta, an honest hard working businesskitin who got killed by four assumed monkeys that were digging in his backyard. The community outroars with rage when the news of this lowly intruders got known among our usually so quite undergrounds.
The neighbours told our reporters that the attack by the monkeys was unprovoked and with unknown ferocity and these elderly kipee feared for their own lives.
The Kipesta family was shocked at first but when goign out to check upon their fallen kin got attacked themselves. Reacting instinctively fire burst out and the evil-doers got torched before official authorities could ask questions on the nature of the mining and attack in our lands.
While officials ask for reason, community leaders call for a reaction. The reasoning ranges from revenge to prevention.
It is feared a citizens militia may be formed to retribute this lowly assasination of one of our kind. War seems more a fact then an option."

ROTFLMAO!!!!!
Good point... *LOOOL* And presented in such a nice fashion. *g*
Poor Kipesta family.
But, come to think of it. It may be right.
And for the Homins being seduced by the Dragon, for that we would have to assume that the Homins lived on another Planet and were taken to Atys by the Dragon. And if JENA punished the DRAGON for his attempts, it could not have been the Karavan. Why would she punish her own "Messengers"? Unless they were a "rebel faction" that rescued the Homins.
I´m pretty convinced that the Karavan are some sort of Spacefaring Race, like the ID4 Aliens, out to "rape" the planet, but in a more suptle manner.
They are waering breathing gear, because Atys atmosphere isn´t breatheable for them.
So the GOO might just be an attempt of "Terraforming" or rather "Atysforming" on their part. To convert the Ekosystem of Atys into one more comfortable to them.
Their Environmental Suits may look humanoid, but it´s what´s inside that counts.

Hmm... these theories doesn't make us Matis to the planet's most naive people, would it?
Excellent theories, I love it.
And I think I got my question answered, from a homins point of view magic spells is considered Arcane, most likely even to the most religious type. It was here before Jena & co.

Anyone ever thought of the possibility that the Karavan wear their EVA suits to prevent them from contaminating the local Atysian "wildlife"?
(maybe that's what the Kami did when they arrived (hence the goo) which is why they now go out of their way to convince the homins of their goo(d) intentions (Kami guilt trip))

Actually they're figuring it out with amber like the early greeks did.
An earlier version of foraging in beta was based off of racial materials. Amber was a jungle material, shells were lake lands, etc. Used for different crafting items. It made a lot more sense, but unfortunately Nevrax decided it was too complicated for players and dumbed it down.

One thing that always makes me wonder is that the male Karavan headgear looks very much like the head of a Kami...
Also, all of the walking Kitin and the Fyros/PR levitating Kami look to the sky occasionally. Well, ok, it could have something to do with the weather... but they look almost straight up and not towards the horizont.
And there was some happening with a Fyros sage/whatever who got lost (and drugged?) in one of the stocks in Zorai, who we escorted back to Min-Cho and then to Pyr (he was... a bit confused where we should bring him

)
There he talked about the Kitin and their behaviour (... darn, where are my notes... ) and while he did a Kipucka appeared in the middle of Pyr at the fountain 2-3 times and disappeared before we could even hit it. It wasn't hostile tho! And since when do the Kitins know how to teleport / turn invisible?!
(( *loves these kinds of threads aswell*

They do that because (like me...) they wonder why the planets(?) revolving around Atys are transparent and the sun a stationary object.....
