soloing jugs (ele) and ocyx (melee), above my level... rarely die.. the regen time is not fun, but I recognise it is part of the game balance.
btw, i think this has wandered offtopic

soloing aggro mobs, carnivores, mobs whose only reason in live is to kill things and wondering why you die is a bit short-sighted imho

That's ok, I don't expect everyone to agree with those of us who think there is a problem

.
The bottom line in any game where you pay to play is the number of people who are willing to subscribe.
On the English speaking servers (now server), at least, the game is failing. Apparently, the German servers are not doing very well either, or Xenofur would not be spending all his time here, in our forums.
A long term decline, means that something is wrong in the game. A short burst of new or returning players means that something has at least been promised that appeals to customers, at least for now. A short burst of cancellations means that a patch is unfavorable, or that the content advertised that precipitated the previous burst of new subscribers wasn't good enough to hold them.
These are the bottom line, the litmus test of a games performance, the only measurement that matters. Our individual opinions mean little.

seriously, you shouldn't be guessing at things you don't know

actually the german server is doing pretty well. i'm just the complete opposite of a powerleveler and completed today my highest level of 89 in melee. (been playing since release)
aside from that, i simply find that discussions here are more fruitful and in some cases simply more intelligent than on the german forums. the most activity there occurs when there's something to complain about, at all other times it's almost dead.

Actually we asked Jessica, the English server numbers are improving. Hell I noticed the activity was improving long before the RL meet. The shard isn't failing, its improving.
And EVERY MMO has ongoing problems. And yes some are worse than what we're had with SoR.

From reading it i d say its the forum itself that is quiet, not neccessary the ingame community.

Go "down" into the lower level areas. Many peoples there. Played the last days with USA players below lvl100 only. I do not belief into the big "returning" but in a slow growing population. We just reconize the "i return" threads. Nobody can count the silent newcomers. Many dont post here and as many are more casual players.
Cause i am neither NA citizen nor living in GB i want to say something on topic. This is not the english (NA or GB) server. Here are people from Greece, central europe, scandinavia, to Alaska or the mexican border of the USA. I even heard about one or a couple of players located in asia. And of course "down under" players are there. We just try

to speak english on region. I d prefer the term "international" server. Even the forum is titled "english speaking community". This is not a british and not an american server

!!

..Actually, I didn't know that, but am quite delighted to learn it! I'm relieved that the English server isn't only referring to NA and/or GB. I am from TX, btw.
And, I'm female. Just felt the need to explain that, if I hadn't before. ;8^)

are u ever going to get bored of moaning about everything? i see more people around all the time, and really the patch is a good one, regardless of whether u care about PvP or not. And it's great that a few people from other shards post here imo, if i could communicate in german or french then i'd b saying Hi! over there as well -/

Are you ever going to get tired of being nasty all the time?
If more people had "moaned" about things sooner(and been listened too), Ryzom would be head and shoulders in population above almost all, if not all, other MMORPGs. That is the point, that is why I and others invest so much time "moaning", to make this game better for everybody, and to try to get them to spend time fixing things, instead of investing them in things like new racial animations.
If you spent less time on personal attacks, and more time in thought, you could likely improve things for others too.
