No not hardly.
If I'm in a minority I will get the change forced on me whether I like it or not. I don't like cake but I'd still have to have it.
It's called moving the goal posts because you didn't like the result.

I'd have to disagree.
Giving people the choice between each animations rather than the whole bunch to me makes perfect sense. It was a mistake to expect everyone to like -all- of the proposed changes and they've realised, and fixed it. (or are in the process of)
If you don't get your way on something whats the problem?
Best to keep the majority of people happy. It's only animations anyway, not like anything too drastic..

in this case they moved them because the players didn't like them. had the players given a direct and clear statement they wouldn't do this. besides, what you described is called democracy, welcome!
personally i'd rather to be outvoted by my peers than being decided on by someone higher up, so i'm all for the proposed method.

Well, reading the critisism from the vote thread, it was quite obvious that the animations as a whole wasnt the problem. Very many argued that there were some specific animations which they didnt approve of, and, therefore, voted "no" for all of them.
I think it's a great move by Nevrax to let us all try them out, and then, through the new vote, find the ones not liked by the community. If a majority will vote "no" for all, we will simply not get any new animations.

Well, yes, just like how in the previous poll the minority who wanted the new animations patched got forced into keeping the old animations by the majority who didn't want them patched (including yourself).
How else would you suggest they handle this? Give every single player their own personal animations, tailorfitted to their preferences?

Feel free, that's why it's called a forum.

Doesn't change the fact they went back on another promise. Running this second 'trial' negates the point of having the first vote at all. And what happened to the promise they made:
if the majority of votes goes for keeping the current ones, you won't hear about the new animations until we have time to work on it again.
Yet here we are still hearing about them.

Don't forget that these animations are what you look at for the majority of your game playing time. They're more important than you might think.
*goes into more constructive mode*
I think you'll find that the original suggestion that Nevrax referred to was to allow us to choose which animations we had. However, that went a bit far in that they wanted to be able to choose cross race animations - e.g. a Fyros doing a Zorai sit. How about just allowing us to choose old or new for good? Don't turn the old ones off, just leave people to choose which they have.
That way everybody really WOULD win.

You miss my point, they've gone back on their promise of leaving them alone. I voted against them because they are a pointless change. The animations aint broken, Nevrax just have their priorities wrong - AGAIN.
My point was that I voted no and a few days later find my vote negated. Call that democracy? I don't - I call it re-rolling with a bigger dice cos you didn't like the number you got. I call it breaking ANOTHER promise.

Let people have the choice to turn them on or off. Don't take that away again later. Forget the vote, let people vote with their 'temporary option'. That would be a winning situation for EVERYONE.

With the last poll about half of the community was left unhappy. With this new poll we should get a much higher % of happy player. I think this is one of the better decisions Nevrax has made. We all get to try the new animations and pick the ones we like.
I only disliked 2 of the new animations and voted no in the last poll. I'm happy I will get to see some of the new animations in game soon.

They did say that if the majority voted yes, the new animations would patched immediatly, and if the majority voted no, they would keep the old ones for now.
But the poll showed 427 vs. 429. None of the votes really got the majority (just one person changing their mind would've made the score exactly equal). So now they're doing both, patching the new ones and still keeping the old ones. Looks like such a perfect compromise to me, I wonder why they even had a poll in the first place.

Would have to agree there, I'd love to be able to choose between animations depending on the situation or my mood. If it can be done so easily, I don't see why it should be temporary.
