As for the post about thousands of players...where? lol, the most people ever logged in is 367. Not even 1 thousand. As for the times, try 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm, 10pm... not more then 30 people did i see, most of those were crafters. Speaks pretty much for the game, i saw about 6 people out of all of them hunting.

a mention is made of a poor distribution, possibly an answer, but i forstalled buying the game for a few weeks to see how it had worked out, there is almost noone posting on these boards, no real amount of guilds on the guild posts, noone in klients..

and the game.. i'm not going to troll, but if you seriously think its your idea of fun, try eq2 or wow or ac2... they are fun. Ryzom couldve been, and might still be, if anyone buys it.

This game requires people playing, the more playing the more it will be fun, with only 30 people, most of them crafting..wheres the long term, name 1 game which had a poor a start as this and is still going. Name one.

you say in your initial post the game is not for playing, "punishment you give to murderers" yet you are playing till the end of your free month? ermm...

Well, all fighters know best mobs are in town or really close to it. They sure spend all their time in the streets or at the gates killing super "suckling yubo" for great xp reward and perfect high qual mats.

But everything has already been said; just wondering (like michlieb) why you still play if it's such a pain... "cause it's free" ? They all say that...

Duster.

Many people expect from MMORPG to be superman in 2 hours and own game like solo things .. lol this games are made to be played LONG time and requite that you play "multiplayer" you have to LEARN game and find its secrets luking on web sites, reading guides from other players and playing and most of all gruping and have fun with other people.

In this games you simply cannot be the best you can be among the best at last i look on them so .. having FUN and having friends ...

This sounds like a guy we had the pleasure of hearing moan about the game last night, almost exactly the same arguements as well.

It was all explained when he said he was an ex-beta tester and that everything was better in beta. I believe the quote was 'people were laughing'. Of course they were, it was free. And bunnies were dancing with the fairies over a magic rainbow as well...

99.9% of ex betas are fine, always have the .01% that have a chip on both shoulders.

Some people just live to be dissapointed. Sounds like the guy was determined to not like the game.

I suspect he'll do the same thing in the next game he finds. He'll want to hate that too.

Sharing my thoughts:

I heard about the game about 2 weeks ago, got hooked immediately and bought it 3 days after the official release (guess until then I was on SERIOUS luck)

But as I havent been in the beta and followed no discussions until 2 wekks ago I can compare the game only to tother MMORPGS I bought and my impression is strongly that SoR

Has been released to early as it lacks LOTS of content that is allready included in the rulesbook (german and english). Aditionally we all are playing atm THE SAME RACE - just with different skins&textures. The only differences are serious imbalances which does not qulify for racial diversity in my opinion

Therefore I am not willing to pay for playing after the free month and wait instead until after patch2 including the resulting fine tuning has been done. If Nevrax lost me until then to WoW or EQ2 thats bad luck - I will treat these games the same.

If Nevrax thought that a premature release is economically the better solution they can enjoy my 50 bucks for the original game but thats it. Games are nothing special, they should be treated like any other product.

Well, I've never seen more than three people in one area. I rarely see people out hunting and know this talk of distribution mess up is a load of ####.

I work for Game, the company has a very healthy stock of the title with most stores receiving between 2-6 copies of the title (which is far more than most mmorpgs).

But it's still quiet. It does actually remind me of Horizons, in that 90% of the players are crafters/harvesters and the other 10% are hunters. Why is that?

I'm fairly sure that the European English server has the smallest of all server populations (just check the threadcount/postcount here on the boards as an indication). As for the crafter/harvester/hunter question, there are very few "pure" characters in Ryzom, due to the fact that you can have multiple skill trees at the same time.

Personally I like to hunt when it's day in Atys and I like to craft during night.

Because there is only Q25 max items at the vendors ?
