If I read the reactions, I think almost everybody liked new, race-specific animations, but there were specific parts that people didnt like, which made them vote 'no'. (Like me)
So please dont throw it all away, just tweak it, because that is what needs to be done!

I've made one for the sitting-animations in the german comm.
http://www.ryzom.de/forum/showthread.php?t=18042
But hurry it is closed in a few days
I didn't want to create 3 polls so somebody else should do the other two...

Edit :
for those of you whom doesn't know German :
"Frau" --> Woman
"Mann" --> Man

In that German poll it would appear that sofar the Tryker and Zoraï sitting animations find greater acceptance than the Matis and Fyros.

Quite frankly, I liked the new anims...
...apart from the new running animations, which led me to vote "no".
I could get into discussion whether a less upright position would have been suitable or not or if some stances for the arms would really be appropriate, but fact is, these details I'd have gotten used to very quickly, so would you.
What I simply couldn't deal with was the restlessness of Zorai, Tryker and Fyros running (has there been a change to Matis running? I didn't notice any...). After all, I'd be the one having to watch my char running, or with the proposed animations hopping, for as long as I choose to play a session. They did not fit in with my ergonomic expectations, on ATS it made me nervous and want to log out after half an hour...
Then, I expanded that vision a bit and imagined an event with 150 Homins hopping around like bunnies on speed... I had to laugh and vote no the same instance
Good approach, though.

Half of them voted for the new animations and would have taken the unfinished ones as many said half of the animations look nice the other half not. And the other have voted against cause they don't want the bad half of the animations
so maybe just make the other half lookin nice to and try voting again

Splitting hairs here I know but to be entirely accurate, LESS than half liked them (less than half voted no too!) - that's why they aint being implemented!
aylwyne wrote:I feel having it be an "all or nothing" vote was a disservice to both the artists that created the new animations and to the community that was forced to lump all of them together into a single vote.
Perhaps they should've asked us if we wanted them changing before doing the work then eh? Saved themselves some wasted time. Why fix what aint broken? If they want to introduce racial difference, do it where it matters! In the combat and spells. Give us true racial actions. What's the sense in a Matis casting fire?? And (completely off topic but relevent to the racial issue I think) how come none of the other races get burned when they walk through Cerakos Gate?
I voted no because I didn't see the point to the change. Another pointless exercise IMHO - priorities are all wrong.

I think characterisation matters. As much as, if not more, stat changes.
Of course, I'd give Fyros more base hit points, Tryker more base focus, Zorai more base Sap and Matis a smaller bonus to both Sap and Focus as well, and the resistances, and I'd put in more fame related encyclopaedia missions with special racial abilities... and RP props and fix the emotes... but some characterisation through animations would be nice too and just as important
The best option to give us would be to be allowed to pick and choose which animations we use for our character and to add the other sit actions as emotes, as has been suggested.
I'd like to walk and run like the Fyros animation and sit like a Zorai please
I'd also like the option to lie down and take a nap, maybe that could be an alternate AFK when in the sitting position.

Agree to that. For me, SoR is a very visual experience, and I would be very glad to have some additional options to further the visual differences; partly, between the races, but, equally important, between characters as well. I.e. having deafult animations based on ones race and other animations as optional emotes is a very good idea. And, in the long run, some more clothes etc. to choose from wouldn't hurt either
But, first things first; some tweeks to the proposed animations and the community will (hopefully) accept them with open arms

Indeed.
I think a bit less 'Ooh Betty' on the Tryker male running and a bit less bounce on the running and they'd be almost there.

to split hairs even further: less than half were against them as well, forgot those that voted: "don't care"?
