This is a shift in guild stance... as of this moment our guild is now on an "attack only if attacked" basis in the Prime Roots and the Nexus.

Be well all... and sleep easier!

Actually if all guilds and players took this stance you could have PvE on a PvP server. lol :)

I like the post... only problem is I just don't believe it. But to support an aparently nice and peacefull decision I even rated the post to excelent.

I do not - I repeat I do NOT - like any Infinity member, til now they were just a bunch of griefers and anyone who wears Infinity flag is on my no-rez list.

But maybe they were weakened, maybe they changed the point of view, I don't know.
If this will turn out to be true, I salute Brit's decision and bow before a wise leader.

And if is a lie... what can I possibly aspect from a gang of gankers?

Nice generalization. I doubt you even know who all the members of Infinity are.

When you where a guild tag, you are by default assumed to be like all the members of that guild. Its just homin nature.

A guilds reputation is not built of the actions of one member, or in fact the words of its leader. Its built over time and once established is hard to lose if its negative. A guild with a positive reputation can lose that overnight, if it behaves badly. This is just the way things are.

My personal stand point is that I would not trust any member of infinity or associated guilds. I have found some players within the guild to be rude and aggresive toward other homin, this will not change just because brithlem says so. They will have to walk along way on this new path before they can be trusted again and should they step off it just once, they will lose all creditablity.

I read the original post as .....

We will not attack anyone who doesn't attack us, until the next time.

I also have a funny gut feeling that they will be using provocation as a means to start a fight, so they can appear 'blameless'.

A change in stand point by this guild is welcomed, but does the apple they bring to our door contain poison?

Above comments are all In Character

I completely agree. :p

If anyone doesnt know or remember; Infinity was at war against numerous people/guilds in roots as well as griefing people trying to play in "their void". Just prior to the merge Brith announced a "new infinty". He contacted people with false praise and complements and the fear of evil EE guilds.

Obviously that new Infintiy turned out to be a slightly nicer version of the old Infinty. Gankers but not as much trash talking as before (ya hard for me to believe as well  ). Now Brith changes his tune yet again.

Something has indeed changed fellow homins. And it is not infinty wanting to be "nice" its more a change for self preservation. Infinty's goal has always been clear. Yes think of their behaviour and you can see for yourselves what type of players they are. Indeed if Saddam could have had peace before the US led coalition marched into Baghdad and dragged him out of that Yubo Hole; I'm sure he would have "changed" as well :p

Then again...bearing in mind who the original comment came from it shouldn't have come as much of a surprise.

Unfortunately RL is full of generalisation just as ingame, why because it's easier to do so. Infinity has got a bad reputation I was even warned about them before I had even seen one ingame. Maybe the problem is Infinity was playing PvP here while the people they were playing PvP against were still playing PvE. But a ganking reputation seems to suggest they were killing the same player/players again and again. In WoW ganking is seen as part of PvP by Blizzard, however most players do not see it as acceptable and as such ganking is generally limited.

So I would like to congratulate Infinity for getting such an interesting reputation. Reputations are easy to make but extremely hard to get rid of.
