FYI: It was a shock to me to see that ponytail on Xavier. Proffesor X suppose to have a shiney hed!

dazman76 wrote: EDIT: Another good reason is the trans-gender nature of MMOs, something I personally don't agree with for several unkown reasons. For example, finding out your pint-sized sexy Tryker friend is in fact a 20-stone guy called Bob with a beard. I have nothing against people who weigh 20 stone (even if they have a beard and are called Bob), but I think you see my point :)
Oh come now, so long as everyone is perfectly secure in their own RL sexuality, knows they're just playing and doesn't take anything too far, why should that matter?

Let's not derail this thread onto something like that now :)

Too late :) Was waiting for J to reply too :)

I can't tell you exactly why J, it just seems weird that's all. Once again (poor old RP eh? :) ) it comes down to RP, at least in part. You're obviously good with RP, I'm obviously not good with it. I'm not against it at all, I'm just not good at it, and tbh don't enjoy it as much as you guys do.

If you're into RP, you're into playing characters, accepting characters, and generally accepting behaviours and cultural differences that you wouldn't have to in everyday life. For example, a 20-stone bearded guy called Bob coming and sitting next to you in the pub, wearing women's clothing. And then talking about his favourite perfume.

It just brings all sorts of 'weirdness' to conversations too. For example, my original Guild leader was a guy called Ben, playing a woman called Sumanaptra. I was an MMO newb, and always thought the lovely Matis lady who was my leader, was in fact female through and through. Once I knew he was a he, I just couldn't call him "she" anymore when talking to the guild - and most of the guild had a similar problem.

I know there's nothing wrong with it, and you've done exactly what I expected you to do :) But remember - not everyone sees this kind of thing in the same light as you do.

I was OK with Bob in the end - I found out he was actually a 20-stone bearded confused woman RPing a man dressed up as woman - once I knew what we were cool.

EDIT: My account closes in 5 days, so don't expect me to stay on-topic any more than I usually do :)

I'd have no objection but why anyone would want to see a picture of a grey haired, 58yo, Scotsman in a skirt well I don't know.
