Well by Christmas Nevrax's latest observation period will be over. How long will they last after that? Will they have to actually pay some debts then?
My current subscription period will also have ended. If we've had the same lack of "improvements" to the game by then, I wont be renewing mine and I never thought I'd say that.
Isn't it about time they released the spring clean code?
Other highlights to look forward to:
messing up (sorry balancing) of magic.
Some more PvP stuff (deep joy) (NB this is sarcasm!)
And then Coming Soon (tm) we have the O word. I have yet to find a definition of 'soon' that means 'not in the near future'.

I don't agree and am reserving judgement until I see the effects of the changes in game.
Speaking as a healer who uses a lot of double spell heals, I don't like what has been proposed for the changes. I'm going to have my healing power halved while the cost for my double spells will go up. I see much more team deaths on the horizon.

I dont think that anything is wrong with magic, healing or melee. It is how people play the game. Much better would be a ress timer of 10 to 90 seconds.
The balance is not destroyed by elemental mages and healers, but death means nothing in the game and in the players mind. As long as poeple dont try to avoid it, nothing will change.
Imagine we all try to play the game without facing the soil. A lot would be different.
Here is my point of view. The primary targets of a healer in a combat are always
the melees. They are the only thing between the mob an the guys in light armour. Second targets are the mages and third are the ranged fighters.
As lowlevel players we all where aware of this. 6 lvl 65 chars aginst a 4star kincher. When the tank died the team was dead at a chance of 95%. Thats why we healed the tank, even if a elemental wannabe was out of hp and sap.
At least this was the way i was teached the art of healing and surviving a kincher

One thing i would like to see in-game is something mentioned in the printed manual. The ability to grant any guild member full access to the guild inventory.

Christmas could be far too late for our beloved game.
If 'stuff' is not implemented by November, I am afraid Atys will get very lonely.

I do both melee and magic - though recently I have been neglecting melee because I enjoy healing. I don't think there's anything wrong with either. I have no problem with a mage being more powerful than a fighter. After all, isn't that the point? Magic SHOULD be more powerful than melee by their very natures. Magic is SUPERnatural.
When I'm healing, I view it as my job to keep the team alive during combat. If the team dies, I feel responsible. That job will be made a lot harder with the proposed changes.
If they're going to reduce the power of healers, are they reducing any of the insane damage amounts that certain mobs can do? Are they going to halve those too? Or at least reduce them by some factor - e.g. 2 thirds.
I'll reserve final judgement until I see the true in game effects, but I don't like the IDEA in principal.

It certainly will be for me I'm sad to say. I have a copy of Half Life 2 sat unused on my shelf that I can feel calling to me. So far Ryzom's pull has been stronger but I feel myself getting disillusioned.
I think I actually preferred the days when we had patch after patch. At least we knew something was being done. All we hear at the moment are excuses and delays. No true evidence that any work is being done.

Half Life wont be the problem in november

A friend told me today that a new patch for Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction is out. But this wont be the problem either.
Lets face it. If SoR survives this year and Devs is going to release the "true Saga" then this dark valley is done
I guess Devs is bright enough to read the forums of one or two particular games. They are crowded by WoW frustrated people and people who allready start to pray that finally any company gets aware of what a huge number of mature players desire. It made me laugh that there even was a thread where people dont want to belief what they read in the featurelist and the beta reviews. LOL, not cause all mmo companies are liars, but cause its to cool to be true.
It looks like i will pay until x-mas. But i will have also a sneak in november.
