Hi I'm simcard (Rapscallion (Fyros Forager / Warrior) and Viffer (Tryker Crafter) in the game). Playing out of MK on my re-instated ADSL.

Played Anarchy before losing ADSL first time (you don't know what you've got til it's gone - trust me) - didn't get on with it.

Saw this featured in PC Zone - was looking for a MMORPG beta to join after the demise of Warhammer, so checked it out through MMORPG.COM and gave it a bash. Love it.

I'm taking things slow for now & I do have a mate joining soon.

See you out there!

Si M...

Hi,

I'm Umaru ingame (a Matis Havester / Fighter). From the Uk (Glos).
Played numerous onlines games, ranging from UO-beta (never played retail), EQ, AO, DAoC, Eve, FF Online and a few others.

Loving the freedom that Ryzom gives, plus the huge potential that the game engine and game system offers.

Was looking forward to EQII, but after playing this, my opinion of what game i'm going to play in the future is becoming more and more hazy.

/Cheers!

Hi all,

My toon's name is Omega - mainly caster, having had numerous restarts.

Just joined Ryzom recently, but I've played pretty much every MMO out there (except FF - dunno why)...some for long periods, some just briefly. None with the name Omega though, so if you know an Omega from somewhere else...I'm not him/her/it.

If this MMO really is as deep as people suggest (rather than just incomplete) I'll probably be here for a while, as I'm one of the growing hoard that realised WoW is...old pants really.

Love the graphics and environmental engine, hoping the rest of the game unfolds to an equal high quality!

My name is spelk, I'm a mature gamer who's played most MMORPG's for what seems like many years. Ryzom seemed marginal enough to appeal to the likes of me, I liked the novel concepts it presented and the envelope it was pushing in certain areas where other MMORPG's haven't tread. Love the pack mentality of the wildlife, and the lush natural environment. The only thing that jars with me a little, is that most of the wildlife resemble pokemon. ;)

I'm from the UK, like action and roleplay in equal doses.

My characters are:

Zhaan
Tegana

Looking forward to meeting some of you folks on the server and joining you in combat against whatever storied nasties are thrown at us.

Really nice to go through the introduction threads and see more mature, in years, people posting their greetings.

As one myself I feel really comfortable with this.

Hi there, my name is Derek, i'm 25, live in Nottingham and i'm an Information and Audit Officer for the City Hospital

*waves dementedly to the audience*

"Okay Derek, now my card says you're in a game called 'Saga of Ryzom'. What exactly are you in that then?"

Aaahh, good question, wish i knew! Somehow i've managed to be 23 Fighter, 17 Magic, 27 Armour Craft, 35 Weapon Craft and 27 Harvest. Now sure what that makes me to be honest...other than a bit of everything i suppose!

"And your character is called...?"

Oh yes, sorry! He's a Fyros called Theos. Still in the starting area for now, shambling around desperately trying to find enough fine and choice mats to craft decent stuff with (curse you grip, curse you!).

"Theos eh? A play on your real life nickname of Theo no doubt. So, what type of MMORG experience have you under your belt then?"

Well i started with Dark Ages of Camelot, which was 'okay'. Tried Everquest, which was rubbish. Then had a go at Eve, which was cool but waaaaay to focused on forming and operating a Corporation for me, folks got way to anal about it when i just wanted to actually earn things for myself, get some actual sense of achievment, so i left that. Then AC2 which was 'okay'. Heh, and mostly recently i gave Final Fantasy XI a go, which is the most embaressing attempt at a MMORG i have ever had the misfortune to play. I mean seriously rubbish.

"Okay, well thanks for that Derek, any final thoughts on Ryzom before we move on?"

Best MMORG i've ever played, easily. So much depth possible in terms of choices for your character. That if nothing else gives it a longevity way beyond anything i've played before. Top class stuff.

Hello there!
I'm a 32 year old Swede. I'm Dhenji in-game, a Zoraï huntress focusing on using daggers and defensive magic in combat. :)

I've played Everquest from its release in 1998 until February this year with the exception of a few breaks now and then and i've also played Planetside for a while.
I gave up MMORPG's about 6 months ago because of boredom (Caused by the complete lack of innovation in current MMORPG's), Ryzom is the first to offer something new and different and i'll definately be playing it for a long time. :)

Hi everyone , my name is Ricardo and I'm a 19 year-old student from Lisbon, Portugal.

My in-game nick is Striker and I'm a Tryker Warrior/Harvester. I enjoy role-playing (not to extreme levels though) and pretty much teaming up with anyone who is polite to other players.

I have considerable experience in MMORPGs since I've played most of them since Ultima Online.

Until now SoR looks amazing , despite the severe lag problems , but since I think those will be fixed soon I'm very impressed with everything else and the community seems to be one of the best ever. :)

Hello fellow Ryzom players,

My ingame character is a Fyros (allrounder, but im leaning to magic) named Pathros. Im a 34 years old "veteran" gamer who've played DAOC, FFXI, Planetside, COH, SWG, Earth and Beyond and Eve before till i stumbled on this "little"" gem.

Sofar i appreciate all the changes ingame, but the game still feels unfinished. But i know MMORPG's are continuing evolving and growing and hope Ryzom will do fine, also after the big B and SOE release their game. The game has some really nice features and it feels like fresh air. Only true setback sofar is the LAG, its horrible and I truly hope this will be solved soon.

/salute from the Netherlands :D

I'm Thomas, in-game the Tryker Harvester/Gun-Crafter Thosam (original, yes I know). Been around since OpenBeta1, was in FocusBeta and OB2. Used to play E&B and Horizons.
