Threads get to 10 pages because so many want to express their opinion about pvp in general even if they don't have anything to do with incident itself, in every pvp thread. If threads are in general area, it just gets more people expressing their general views about pvp...

It would be nice to have threads more specific in nature that actually deal with the topic originally posted. Not that it doesn't happen currently, but it's time-consuming and, dareisay, tedious, to wade through 50 irrelevant posts to find the few good ones.

Also with regards to Pvp revisions in SoR of indirect and direct nature, the upcoming prominence of events with PvP aspect would warrent creation of a new forum, as this topic clog general discussion, as was suggested. IMO PvP is not the same as 'general discussion, unless we are talking about proposed changes to pvP rather than PvP in-game.

I would say I love the political and social aspects of ryzom more than i like the levelling/grinding/general-feeling-of-being-powerful... ehehe, feeling. Personally, for me, a subforum like this would be of great benefit in enhancing my overall opinion of the game.

Perhaps i'm being too fussy with my distinctions?

Not that a PVP subforum might address these issues, but who knows until we try, eh? =)

I"m for the idea.

threads get to 10 pages because sooner or later they degenerate into 'my pike is bigger than yours' flames ;)

Forum is like real life in the newspaper. Weatherforcast, useful politics, useless politics and "dumbass" news alltogether on one page.

I dont think gang warfare and murder are good things. In the early days of PC gaming there where some parents who said that such games are poisoning their childrens mind. Dunno if any of you readers remember those days. Some of you are probably the children they wanted to save those days. Nevertheless in most games you carry a weapon and you are able to play PvP. But there are a lot of people who feel not this way. Thats why foraging/mining, crafting and in the latest games exploring is such a success.

Those "news" should not move away. It might be the beginning of censorship. Everyone with not such ideas should just show that she/he is able to go ahead of such. Somehow i feel we should not decline PvP players.

I dont think thats the case , seems to me its third parties "arguing" (not realy , because infact their opinion is set in stone) their own view on "PvP rulz joo" or "PvP is the Anti-christ and will destroy us all" whilst totaly ignoring the incident that sparked off the thread in the first place ...lol sounds very much like politics actualy

Or taking these repeated incidents, the associated accusations of 'n00bism' and 'pwning' and other childishness and adding them to the dangerously highly stacked evidence that PvP is bad and attracts the worst type of player.

You know, there is THAT too.

Their posturing behavoir is in character for what they are doing and it seems very few "Inocents" are involved (exception being Booster but then that was for a reason -denying resources). seems to me PvP is "Working as intended" in the roots or getting that way...

Childishness, leet speak and schlong measuring aren't exactly in character and nor is the kill-anyone attitude when the slant of the game is heavily towards faction Vs faction, not 'You Vs anyone cuz you is leet'.

i think the trouble at the moment is there is a lack of direction for PvP. ppl can do it, but without a story/game driven reason to it just ends up as if not ganking then something close to it.. Now maybe with outposts et al there will be enough of a focus for it to be fun, and everyone doing it for the same reasons.. we'll have to wait and see.

agree on the lack of innocence as well, i think there are few around either complaining or boasting that could b considered blameless ('cept boost maybe ;) )
