Yeah well, apart from that, I've been able to see three posts come up in this thread and post one myself before the first sentence I've typed in Klients comes up. Still think something needs to be changed there.

Lag remains on Klients for a number of us. You're just one of the lucky ones Nillian.

I agree, some feedback on the downess would be nice..

Klients IS on a different server.

it's on chat.ryzom.com.

I do feel your pain though - but there is another route you can take. The ryzom offical irc channel.

irc.netgamers.com
#Ryzom

Well chat.ryzom.com is 213.208.119.189... someone with a good firewall just look for gobs of traffic and see about Arispotle, I'm curious lol

Just because they have a unique subdomain name for the chat program doesn't mean it's on a separate server. You can have any number of domains and subdomains going to the same place. Conversely, you can have one domain delegate to any number of backend machines based on the nature of the incoming request.

Basically, it's unclear based on what you see from the outside exactly what the physical server makeup there is like. It's unlikely, however, that the chat program is actually running on the same physical machines as are serving the game itself. They may, however, be accessed using the same web servers/firewalls/etc. and if the problem is at that level, it would affect both.

He's right, and chat.ryzom.com and http://www.ryzom.com are in fact the same computer. I'd like to know about Arispotle ... actually, it's probably a safe bet that it'd be on a different computer than the one that has BOTH the chat and web servers running, but I'm still curious :P
