Shanree, the ragus and gingos get less annoying once you get pass a certain lvl and be able to kill them with ease, so hang in there.

Heh! When is that my darling Fyrx?

My lvl 150+ ATS alt has trouble with 'em still! Raku tries to tell me it's because I'm a cat person. Maybe it's because there isn't anyone hunting them on that server and so the animal population is much denser or the dev's did write extra meanness code into the doggie devils.

Anyhoo, to give y'all hope - yes, take the south route and if you can, nuke 'em from a good distance if you don't care to wait 'em out. Friends are a great help too. I'm surprised there isn't an escort service to take people safely down the road past them.

Hmmm, 250 mage or melee probably, pretty Soma/Ananti/Pyanfar/Bellaasha/Anjika.
j/k!
Now that I think about it, I still have trouble with them if I am not in Heavy Armor. But if you have self heal, invuln, melee shield, and speed run at your disposal, you can get out of a lot of tough situation. That's one reason you should lvl your melee along with your nuke, I can't imagine living without melee shield, invuln, and speed run.

You can get invuln, and speed run by leveling any combat skill, melee/ranged/magic. Melee arua is the only melee specific benefit, as magic aura is magic

So there FRYX

Hmm, what exactly do you people consider 'not having problems' with something? Certainly, at melee 90 something a bigger bunch of Gingos & Co. *can* still kill you. But I for myself cosider it not a problem once I can deal with a couple of those without much effort. And 2 hits with a weapon are not that much of an effort I would say.
It is cerainly enough to get you in and out Yrkanis without much risk.

They're easier, I do them at 120 pike without real chance of me dying. One would kill me if I didn't do anything fairly quickly, but one or two hits will kill any ragus or gingo around yrk with my pike. Half the time I don't even use my max credit ones. No special gear, my own q110 LA q100+ jewels and a max dam pike. *shrugs*
EDIT: Couldn't do more than 5 or so in a row or a couple at a time without resting or having to use skills, but still 120 fight is plenty :)

one thing i noticed with the Yrk gingos, once i gained the firepower to nuke/chop them into garden mulch, they became much easier to sneak past

.. sort of a 'lets all pretend we havent seen each other, and no-one needs to get hurt..' kind of effect.
still run "snowplough" down the main road for the new kids when I'm in the area though
