Hmmm, Tryker seem to have irish sounding names, yet you're all doing a slightly differing mix of Irish, Jamaican, English Pirates, and even some Orcish in there.
Do
you understand the Tryker language?
Anyhow. You have a point with the last paragraph (the rest I won't comment on, as I don't play anymore). I'm not sure if this is what Nevrax is doing - I can't decide. Effectively, attracting new players at the price of losing existing players is 'recycling' - recycling is good, except when it involves your playerbase. The mood around here has dropped a little recently, due to the topics being discussed and the fact that a lot of players are waiting on changes or additions.
I know Nevrax has to stick to a plan, and that's especially important after the Chapter 11 business. I just hope that plan doesn't hinge on attracting new subscriptions, at the potential cost of losing current players. With the community that has built up here, that would be a tragedy really - for the community, for the game, and for Nevrax.

No, I don't understand the Tryker language at all! But I do enjoy Baxter's posts, they are wonderful.

Rak- Heh, yah, I expected to be able to solo madnes fer experience, seein as how it's only point be to cause damage to de mob, it don' keep de mob frem hittin you at all, not in de least, an I spent points on it. As it don' do nuthin but damage, an not enuff to beat a mob equal to yer level, it's a cheat.
Mmato (?)- I don tink I be doin anyting wrong, as I tried me experiments wit ev'ry option available to me, an at least ONE o' dem hadda be de right way. As fer usin all Gentle, spec, etc. an still gittin blow up/source death, allow me to reiterate: usin gentle speed/HARMFUL rate/gentle Q =16 units at Q250, usin gentle speed/GENTLE rate/gentle Q= 8-10 units at Q250, wit EXACTLY de same number o screwups (agin, a reitteration, source death, or loss o' stability means you screwed up, dat's why ya git less xp fer same) wot de abyss be de point o buyin Gentle rate atall, cept dat ya gots extra points to spend? Wot about those wot be jus startin out, an don' gots de extra points yet? Dey be cheated, dat's wot.
I did de vests at Q100 fer a reason wot rilly shuld be obvious, as an experiment, after hearin all de folks complain about thar high number o' degrades, I wanted to see jus how bad it wer. Answer is: ridiculously so. Name one even journeyman crafter on Earth, let alone a master, who screws up his werk dat badly, an ruins his company's/teachers supplies dat often, an I'll show ya a feller wot's gonna spend de rest o' his days askin "You want fries with that?". Since de devs haf made it obvious dat dey canna handle a random number generator, dey gotta make it so at some point, ya haf zero chance o' degrades, say at Q200 fer a Q250 crafter, tho prefferably dey fix de problem as it stands, dat's prolly to much to hope fer.
Peculiarities in deposit trackin be demmed. Dat costs more sp den anytin else in harvest, as such it shuld werk right. Period. Anytin else is agin, cheatin folks outa thar sp wit wots called "false advertising".
As to yer claim o' gittin xp fer solo madness, I don' believe ya.

My point with harvesting was that you should careplan with gentle harvesting too and this makes foraging more involving and thus more interesting activity. It would be much easier for player to click gentle harvesting and go doing something else until harvesting ends but do we really want this?
Gentle methods helps but I agree that gentle rate is not anywhere as good as others.
I don't understand your talk about getting only 5% successes with 95% success rate. This is far from my own experience and would make crafting near impossible and I craft often low q items for new guild members without any noticeable failure rate.
Sorry, I can't figure out way how to prove soloing madness with good xp to you.

Crafting with 95% success and getting 3 degrades in row...
Spending much less mats (and attempts) to craft few pair gloves in other tree (overcrafting 100+ levels), than in "main tree" with high success rate...
One of last patchs, contained or "silent changes" or devs messed craft success 'accidentialy', because now, sometimes, looks like for crafting used 'bad', looped rnd generator'
If these changes (?) were supposed to stop overcrafting - attempt failed, because overcrafting now at same level "as before", but crafting with high success rate is unpredictable..
There was one more thread about
Crafting success

Ahhh, referring to that one. Haven't been messing around with supreme mats lately, so my comment is not valid for this case. Most of my brain capacity was wasted on deciphering original post anyways so it was too easy to miss important points in it
