For-change:In pvp, is it right that I can do 1.5k dmg, but my oppenents healer can heal 4k life?
It is meant to be a challenge, and good fun. Healing should be brought in-line with damage from ele. It makes sense from a pvp point of view.
Against-Change:The biggest problem with the nerf though is that people don't want to heal. It's xp in the wrong place. With this nerf it will make it harder to find a healer that can do there job...

the problem is, by trying to make the PvP whiners happy, they are wrecking the game for the rest of us.

I wonder how long Nevrax is going to continue this rather open development model where they throw ideas at players to discuss rather than implementing without asking players. This really seems to upset vocal minority(?) of players

I expect theyl impliment what they want regardless , just stating "as no serious objections were raised..." as they did with putting the crafters names back onto crafted items previously

Those minor changes have been like "We made this change, how about if we include it in next patch? We can left it out too". I am optimistic that they listened our feedback and added those suggestions to their list. However, that list must be long and they will do that in some priority order although those priorities seem rather odd sometimes.
Healing nerf was presented at idea level for dicussions so we have much more chances to affect outcome. However, they have goal for that nerf and they have to get there and player suggestions will be judged how they will benefit that goal or lessen unwanted consequences.

The reason healing in this game is so boring is because it requires no skill (no branches does really) all you do is click a button and play whack-a-mole.
In other mmorpgs (no, im not talking about just WoW) heals take more time to cast, and heal less, and mobs does far less damage. This means you cant just spam some 5k heal to heal someone with 2k hp over and over to keep them alive, but you actually have to think and use some strategy, time your heals, prioritise who gets heals etc.
Also, this combined with the fact that there is no aggro building or aggro control abilities, but mostly completely random what person which mob attacks makes combat really quite uninteresting and uninspiring. No wonder people just look for the fastest way to level, instead of enjoying the ride.
Nerfing healing power without nerfing mob damage output would be a big step closer towards dealing the last fatal blow to this game, at least for me.

IMO it needs to be either a combination tweak, or one that applies only to PvP. I can't see a way for it to be done just to PvP though, since PvP areas still contain mobs etc.
I think you need to...
1 - reduce the steepness of the healing curve, so it remains useful but doesn't ascend in power quite so quickly.
2 - Tweak melee up a bit so that it is more useful as a damage dealing technique.
3 - Tweak the HP/Armour/Dodge/Parry (delete where applicable) up on the melee tree so that they can absorb a bit more damage. When you're hit with 4k damage a hit by a mob it doesn't actually matter if you're a melee with 4000 hp or a mage with 1000, you're both just as dead and there's no actual advantage to being the melee.
