Why would you waste same amount of mats as say dagger lvling a usless craft branch just so you can over craft and lvl another one?
Would make more sence just lvl that craft in the first place and leave the staff crafting well alone unless ya really really do want to say "woot im the first 250 master staff crafter" in which case my hats off to ya

The staffs are just there because they used to be mage amps, but when it was switched to gloves in patch 1 they took out the amber from the staff.
The damage sucks cause it wasn't ever meant to be a weapon.
Yeah basic I know they use to be two different things, but I seriously think that they made the mage staff, so they just put a regular staff there almost as a placeholder..nonmagic version, so its still there now.
so it isnt that it is a relic, i was wrong about that, but i still dont think it was intended to be a useful weapon

how about.. giving them partial Amp bonuses.. magic wand sort of thing,
AND
making them dual wield, same as daggers..
lots of martial arts/fighting styles use short stick plus dagger, or two sticks etc, and the other stereotype is the mighty wizard... sword in one hand and staff in the other.... usually i hate stereotypes, but that one is kinda cool
they are still weaker than daggers, so really do need some kind of sexing up

This is a fact, not an opinion.
Nope

there used to be staves and staffs, staves are the ones that turned to Amps

Range IS usefull.. i get 3k for slapping a dumb plant real easy. It all depends on the weap + ammo though, but i can tell you 159 dmg at +hit rate 6/7 is some good and very decent damage for a lvl 65. (enough for solo mean/vicious kipees with them hitting once > they have to hit once or you wont get xp go figure)

so were staffs nerfed at all, or have they always had the useful capacity of a pair of chopsticks? And if they were always there, doesn't everyone think they're a bit... redundant? (ie. needs to be revised soon

)
come to think of it, i'm sure chopstix were used as deadly weapons in some martial arts movies, so i take that back
