In trailers for the game, Mekkys can be seen following the wandering tribes around Atys, making it seem more realistic for them to be moving about. Will this ever be in game or will we have to re-enact it ourselves?
I'll need to watch the trailers again, but if I remember correctly, the treks featuring mektoubs and range fighters were actual "players" and not wandering NPC's.

They just don't walk like player homins. I know that sounds stupid but I've watched one particular trailer over and over (Ryzom_Trailer_Sword_09_medium) and they're just not human homins! I could be wrong but I think I'm right!

Just watched it; looks to me like they're "actors" doing it for a trailer (ie walking.. I didn't see any sign of them being "robotic") :p

Q: Why the swing towards PvP when the majority of the playerbase seem to be against a significant increase in PvP outside of events? Is it a financial decision? Won't squabbling internally over outposts distract from the overall, story-led faction war?

/still off topic
I watched it again... and again... This was the teaser that "hooked" me. And now watching it with "knowing" eyes it definitely plays different. I can recognize the equipment, the spells, the places and the mobs now. It's still pretty cool, even though there are some disconnects. Karavan walking around, mobs were resisting a lot (they still do), people were using launchers as a viable weapon, people using shields, the phoenix aninimation, healers weren't getting overrun with aggro (kinrey still scare me!), mages in heavy armor, engaging a swarm of kirostas (with no mass aggro), and multiple groups of various races were co-operating against a common foe, the Kitins. I call them disconnects 'cause you don't see it in the game anymore.

Granted the game is evolving and some liberties were taken to shoot a good video and even after all of that it's still a better representation of the game than Teaser 10.

I've learned long ago that you can't judge a game by its trailer, its cut-scenes or even its intro (and what it says on the box!). Even "in-game" videos don't do the game justice. You have to play it. And if I knew then what I know now... I would have skipped Open Beta (although if I had I would have cancelled after Patch 1. Open Beta taught you to be patient and how to reroll often), read DT's guides sooner, ran around with FBT'ers to learn all the exploits (not that FBT'ers were exploiters) and would have retired a L250 Matis character by now :) The BM website would be the same (no stopping Oshido when he's got his mind set to do something). Maybe a little less data...

Okay... enough rambling, sorry I'm B@W again... Thanks for the trip down memory lane! See ya in-game! (I hear we can make our own movies... as soon as I figure out what "camera path" is...)

Q: Have you dudes noticed that you can't see bonuses on items while they're stored in apartments?

It's been like this for ages now and transfering stuff back n' forth to my bag is getting boring. *yawn*

I think they have noticed it as fix seems to be "In Test". Took some time though...

Q. With the impending Kami/Karavan conflict heating up, will players still have access to the trainers (and traders) of the opposite faction, or are we just wasting our time developing skills we wont be able to progress in once the fight starts.

Q.Supposedly players will be getting fame for defeating opponents in PvP, will the targets fame have any relevance to the reward, or will it just be another (gain kami/lose karavan) / (gain karavan/lose kami) thing.

This has been brought up in another thread (and many times in different forms) but I'll ask it as a direct question related to current issues.

In a faction based PvP zone, what provisions are there for neutral players? If my fame is equal with both Kami and Karavan am I just going to be a walking target for everyone, am I going to be unable to be attack or be attacked or am I going to be assigned a faction based on another factor?

I was told by GM that the range weapon system was under investigation to make it more appealing as a trade. How far has this progressed???

Could you also answer why there is the distinct difference in the weight/bulk of ammo (launcher mainly) compared to the materials that make it? eg. Grenades require 12 mats (bulk = 6) but the assembled bulk = 15. I can only carry 12 and this limits any attempt to gain skill in range. I think this needs an explanation.
