Thing that struck me about that conversation was Zerlin's question:

"Is everyone always supposed to get the same amount of exp everytime?"

Is Zerlin a CSR/GM? If so shouldn't they KNOW that??!

Sometimes using madness causes the xp message not to show up, but you get the correct xp nonetheless.

I was in this plant hunt at the time with her, and that was what the whole team was wondering. How can the support not know that the whole team gets the same XP?

All I can say, is, it should be obvious it's a bug. Maybe the XP varies from kill to kill, someone misses or someone uses a different skill. But on any particular kill the whole team gets the same XP, that's the rule.

She was getting less than the rest of us every time.

It's truly amazing when things like that are said by a CSR member. There should be a requirement that they actually play the game. That is just unbelieveable... I just wish it wasn't so common...

Are you using enchants on your amps? During the battle, to heal without nerf and such.

I've noticed that this can effect xp.

Woah, calm down people. The quote is taken out of context, so for those of us now present when it happend have no idea what was said before (or after).

The quote taken as it is, can be read in more than one way.
I read it like this; There is some brouhaha over not all in the team getting the same experience points, to which Zerlin points out that, that is rarely the case*, in the form of a question.
So he is putting this forward to make you think about the exp gained and how.

As has been said elsewhere in this thread, there might be a problem with the madness spell in the current (previous?) patch.
If you were the first to find and report the bug, he would have no chance to know about it (again, no context to the quote).

As far as I know, CSR have been/is playing the game.

* All have to be of same level or all getting max/no/very low exp. You know how it works. ;)

It was my belief that they arent allowed to play the game, due to concerns about exploits/unfair advantage etc.. which is a damn shame :(

If they were playing, some players would be screaming in the forums.. If they arent playing, then their knowledge of gameplay basics is either theoretical or rusty from however long ago when they were active players.

lose/lose situation
:'(

As far as I know (some of) the CSR do play the game (at least on Leanon). But they have a normal player char without their CSR capabilities.

Well then he's wrong mate. All members of a team get the same XP for a kill.

Maybe you're not reading the rest of the thread right. We're not saying the XP dropped. We're saying that one member of the team got DIFFERENT XP from the others on the same kill. Everyone else got 3k but lauriep2 only got 2250.

Yes the XP varies from kill to kill (depending on the levels of the team members and the lvl of the mobs) but not on a single kill between different members of the same team. They all get the same.

Either way you read it, it's wrong.

Read it my way, Zerlin really should know that all team members get same amount of XP per kill.

Read it your way, Zerlin was wrong in saying that isn't the case.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to start a lynching party, just saying you can't provide support if you don't know how it works. I personally think the CSR team are great, they do a great job and are always very prompt to reply.

And as far as I know CSRs ARE players. They have a "normal" character too. I always thought they'd been recruited from the beta players. (Not the GMs but the guides)

Zerlin seems to be more specialized in software & hardware problems than game mechanic problems.
